Durham Region welcomes FGF Brands and HiTech Bay Inc.
Two exciting investments have recently been announced in the City of Pickering. FGF Brands, whose well-known brands include Wonder Bread, Country Harvest, D’Italiano, ACE Bakery, Casa Mendosa, and Stonefire Naans and Flatbreads, is coming to Pickering’s Innovation Corridor.

FGF Brands isn’t just a traditional bread baker—it is a technology company, that bakes. By replacing low-tech equipment with robotics, integrated Artificial Intelligence systems, machine learning, and supply chain innovations, FGF Brands is well on its way to achieving their corporate vision of becoming the world’s greatest baker. FGF Brands will be acquiring 149 total acres in Pickering's Innovation Corridor to create a manufacturing campus and has plans to create 1200 new jobs.

HiTech Bay Inc., an IT parts manufacturer and distributor, is relocating and expanding its operations to the Pickering Innovation Corridor. HiTech Bay Inc. is a corporate partner of BestBuy, Walmart, Amazon and eBay, and is one of only five companies in North America that has been designated as an authorized Microsoft refurbisher. It plans on constructing three separate facilities of 100,000 square feet each, bringing over 200 skilled and high-tech jobs to Pickering.

The City of Pickering’s vision for the Innovation Corridor, located at the north boundary of Seaton along Highway 407, is to support the creation of high-tech jobs in a variety of industry sectors. Invest Durham is pleased to join Invest in Pickering in welcoming FGF Brands and HiTech Bay Inc. to Durham Region.
