On Tuesday, April 5, 2022, Anne Johann begins a new online session of Drawing: An Invaluable Skill and a Fascinating Medium (11091). Starting with pencil, graphite, and charcoal and later adding pen and ink/ink wash, students will work from objects in still life arrangements and from their own photographs.
Having just joined our faculty, Christian Kunze will teach Deep Dive into Drawing (11255), for students with some experience drawing who want to develop a deeper understanding of drawing techniques. This in-person class begins on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.
Katie Goldberg offers Drawing 101 (11209) for those with little to no experience but an appetite for learning and fun. Class meets via Zoom beginning Monday, June 6, 2022.
Budding Botticellis may be interested in Katie Goldberg's upcoming online course, Introduction to Acrylic Painting (11208), starting Tuesday, April 19, 2022. Experiment with color mixing, light and shadow, composition, brush handling, and mark-making techniques to acquire a new skill set. Create a new painting each week based on that session's lesson and exercises to stimulate your creativity and artist’s eye.
Watercolor classes just began this past week with Anne Johann (in person) and Hope Friedland (online). Hope Friedland's in-person session of Watercolor Painting (11240) begins on Thursday, May 5, 2022, right after her current online class comes to an end.
New sessions of evening Knitting for All Levels (evening: 11193; daytime: 11194) begin this week. Beginners, experienced, and lapsed knitters are all welcome in this collegial klatch.
Later in the month, Robin Ingram returns for a two-session class, A Tisket, a Tasket, Learn to Make a Cherokee Wheels Basket (11206). Students will weave a 7 1/2" by 7 1/2" by 5" basket to display your spring flowers and fall harvest.
