Hello Friends,
The focus of this issue is the Emergence of Computational Strata from Light. I am glad to mention that I was invited to present a paper on this topic at the UKSIM-2022 Conference held at Cambridge University earlier this week. Due to conflicting travel, however, I was unable to attend in person, but my presentation was streamed and I share links to it and to the background paper in this newsletter.
In a Cosmology of Light, light is modeled as being not only the substance within which all exists, but further, all that is and all future possibility lies in the substance of light as infinite information. This implies that strata - whether electromagnetic, quantum, atomic, or cellular - all lie as potentiality within light and emerge from it to also create any computational possibilities.
But it also implies that computation itself needs to consider the substance of light and the dynamics that emerge from it and that therefore what we have in terms of current computational devices is only a partial rendering of that which is possible. Related to this claim I also highlight QIQuantum, focused on the creation of a different genre of computational devices.
Best Wishes,
Pravir
