The Charlottesville Albemarle Affordable Housing Coalition Releases 2021 Impact Report

Together, the Charlottesville Albemarle Affordable Housing Coalition (CHAAHC) leveraged more than $30 million in private and public funding to serve nearly 3,000 households and 6,000 neighbors in Greater Charlottesville in the fiscal year 2021.   “Over the last few years, CHAAHC organizations have built the critical relationships and partnerships with each other necessary to build a holistic housing ladder throughout our region. This report reflects how we view our collective impact – no single organization can do its work well without collaboration with the others. In coming years, this collective impact will grow even more.” - Sunshine Mathon Read the full report here.

New Executive Director at Piedmont Community Land Trust!

Meet Shekinah Mitchell, Executive Director PCLT Shekinah Mitchell joined the Piedmont Community Land Trust, our partner organization, in March 2022. She has over 15 years of experience working in affordable housing and comprehensive community development. She has worked within local, regional, statewide and national organizations including Virginia Commonwealth University, Urban Hope RVA, Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), and the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation. Piedmont Community Land Trust The Piedmont CLT homeownership program is open to individuals, families, seniors — any homebuyer who is income-qualified (see above) and wants to live in the greater Charlottesville area. When thinking about your eligibility, you should consider your income and employment, as well as your credit history and savings. These are the factors a lender will consider when you apply for a mortgage. We recognize that homebuyers may be at different stages of the homebuyer process.  We can help connect you to other community resources to assist you.
