It feels like spring here in Portland, OR!
For many of us our life with the pandemic is changing. With warmer weather, flowers, and sunshine, there is an enhanced feeling of renewal and connection. We are definitely feeling that sense of renewal and a desire to connect with our community at Adoption Mosaic.
A few weeks ago, Shelise, Adoption Mosaic's assistant director and my right-hand woman, and I took a fabulous road trip from Portland, OR to Seattle, WA and were able to connect with over 20 adoptees along the way! It was wonderful to connect with old friends and meet new people or people we had only seen over Zoom.
A BIG thank you to those of you who hosted us for a delicious breakfast, came out to the house for a chat, walked around Green Lake, ate dinner at the Colombian restaurant, introduced us to new restaurants, showed us their tiny house, introduced us to baby goats, and brought us out to the dance floor (and much more!). Wow, what an amazing community we have! I’ve included some pictures below. For those of you who we missed this time round, Shelise and I are already talking about next time :)
At Adoption Mosaic we recognize the power and strength of community to enhance the adoptee experience including when adoptive parents are in community with other critically thinking parents. This spring we are offering two adoptive parent courses: The Path to Now course is an opportunity for parents in all stages of parenting to take a contemplative look at their family’s adoption story and the legacy of adoption in their family. Our Seasoned Parents course is a chance for parents whose adoptees are now adults to learn how to navigate adoption with their adult adoptee children and meet others with similar circumstances.
Wishing you all a happy and healthy spring season.
