The Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce awards scholarships to high school students graduating in 2022. Awards are based on several considerations that include academic achievement, community involvement, and need.
Application deadline is April 15, 2022 by 4:00 p.m.
|
|
Application Requirements:
* Applicants must either have an immediate family member who is a member of the Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce (individually or through corporate affiliation), or they must have a Lisle mailing address.
* Applicants must plan to attend a technical or trade school, business college, or a two-or four-year college or university.
* The application packet must be fully and legibly completed.
* The application must be received at the Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce via email submission (info@lislechamber.com or jill@lislechamber.com) or by U.S. Mail postmarked by 4:00 p.m. on April 15, 2022. Applications that are dropped off will not be accepted. The Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce assumes no responsibility for application packets that are not correctly submitted.

Multi-Chamber Luncheon -
COVID-19 in DuPage County
On March 8, 2022, the Multi-Chamber Luncheon - COVID-19 in DuPage County was held at the Crowne Plaza in Glen Ellyn. The event featured Karen Ayala and Christopher Huff from the DuPage County Health Department and identified opportunities for businesses and public health to support health in our community. They spoke what we know, what we have learned, and what we can do to support businesses and the community now and in the future.

AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT
Julie LaFond
St. Joan of Arc
Julie LaFond is a retired teacher from St. Joan of Arc and she has worked in that field for 35 years. Her primary duty at
St. Joan of Arc was teaching Junior High Language Arts. Julie has been a Lisle Area Chamber member for 16 years and has served on the Ambassador Committee for 15 years. She also volunteers her time with the Volunteers 4 Lisle. Volunteers 4 Lisle is the volunteer arm of the Lisle Police Department. Julie thoroughly enjoys volunteering for this organization.
In addition to her contributions as an Ambassador, Julie has worked on the Dinner Dance Committee, 5K Committee, Golf Outing Committee, Government Affairs Committee and she is the Chair of the Scholarship Committee. She enjoys being an Ambassador for the Lisle Area Chamber because she has the opportunity to work with great people throughout the Village in all lines of business.
Julie resides in Lisle. She enjoys spending her free time with her three children and seven grandchildren. She also loves gardening, reading and getting involved in her community. She lives her life by these words, “Get involved and you will reap the rewards of helping people.”
