Overwatch Imaging raises $11 Million to Scale its AI-Enabled Airborne Imaging Systems.
Investors include Squadra Ventures, Shield Capital, L3Harris Technologies, Bridger Aerospace and the Portland Seed Fund.

Columbia Gorge STEM Hub has received a $200,000 Grant award to diversify access to engineering, computer science, and advanced manufacturing courses in Hood River County and South Wasco County School Districts. Dufur's School District has also received a grant to launch new Career and Technical (CTE) programs.
Supporting organizations for this grant include Columbia Gorge Community College, the Gorge Technology Alliance, Mid Columbia Development District, and East Cascade Works.

Columbia Gorge Community College in The Dalles, Oregon, has been awarded a $1.2 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant by the Economic Development Administration.
The money will be used to renovate and modernize the College's existing facility to grow healthcare workforce development programs.
This project is funded under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act (Public Law 116-136), which provided EDA with $1.5 billion for economic assistance programs to help communities prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus.

Hood River Valley High School student Sandra Castillo Palacios is the recipient of this year’s $2000 Corwin Hardham Memorial Scholarship. As a first-generation student, Ms. Castillo plans to study Computer Science and teach younger students enabling them to have early exposure to the field. Congratulations Sandra!

Hi-Tech Seat on MCEDD's Board is Now Open for Nominations
MCEDD is governed by a twenty-one-member Board representing its members and the key economic interests in the region.
Applicants for this seat must work in the high-tech sector in the MCEDD region. For more information and the application form, visit here.

for consideration of appointment.

Business Oregon has opened a Request for Grant Applications seeking certain applicants that have received federal Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) awards or Phase II awards, that may be eligible for a state matching grant. An Oregon company that has received a recent Phase I SBIR/STTR award may submit a proposal for a project up to $50,000. A company with a recent Phase II or Fast-track award may submit a proposal for a project up to $100,000.
