Leadership programming models
I am working to reboot my organization's Leadership Development Institute, a 2 1/2 day workshop-style program. We took the past two years off and, in the interim, a few competing leadership programs have become available. Our Institute, which was centered on the Clifton StrengthsFinder assessment, needs a refreshed format, curriculum, etc. Our previous program was in-person for 2. 5 days. I'd like to explore spreading it out over a period of time with a mix of virtual and in-person experiences to make it more accessible for members around the state. I'd also like to work in activities at our annual conference as a means of boosting conference registrations. I am working with a clean slate!
I would love to hear from my association colleagues who offer leadership programs to their members. What models do you use? Do you use any kind of assessment? Any recommendations on speakers? Join the conversation.

TopClass Learning Management System
The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry converted to TopClass LMS two months ago. If your association is using TopClass:
- Are you able to link to a single course from an enewsletter to alert your members it has been released?
- What are you using for user analytics? (Are you doing this through TopClass or an external analytics platform?)
-
Would you be interested in having our teams form an informal users group to exchange best practices? Join the conversation.

ASAE's top three federal priorities
-
Pandemic risk coverage to help protect association events and the events industry. Conferences, meetings and other events provide the means for organizations to pay staff, promote their stakeholders, lead communities and support America’s economy. Associations, event venues, hospitality providers and the millions of companies and employees they support need pandemic coverage for event cancellation to protect jobs and our community’s far-reaching economic impact. Read ASAE’s Pandemic Risk Coverage Leave-Behind for more information.
-
Freedom to Invest in Tomorrow’s Workforce Act (H.R. 2171 / S. 905). This legislation would expand eligible uses of tax-favorable “529” savings plans to cover costs associated with workforce training and credentialing programs. It would also enable 529 plan beneficiaries to use their funds to pay for examinations necessary to obtain and maintain recognized private professional certifications and other credentials.
-
Resources and Education to Build (REBUILD) Skills Act (bill number TBD). This legislation, which is not yet introduced, would create a federally funded Career Rebuilding Scholarship Fund, administered by approved certification organizations and worker training programs, to distribute scholarships to eligible individuals who take certification exams or enroll in training. Funds would cover up to the lesser of 95% or $3,000 of a program. Read ASAE’s Workforce Development Leave-Behind for more information.
