We are thrilled to return to in-person peer groups in April! We've hosted our first few groups and it has been wonderful to gather again.
Please note we need to give caterers 48 hours notice for lunch orders, so the RSVP deadline will be Friday at noon for Tuesday meetings, Monday at noon for Wednesday meetings, and Wednesday at noon for Thursday meetings. If you miss the RSVP deadline to include lunch, you are welcome to attend just please email me so I can set up the room accordingly.

Community Learning Series: Rebuilding the Soul of our Community May 4 via Zoom
Join us on Wednesday, May 4, from 12 to 1 p.m. on Zoom for the Community Learning Series: Rebuilding the Soul of our Community. The event will feature the resilience of the arts and culture sector in our community and how it contributes to our wellbeing, community vitality, and economy. To register, click here. The Community Learning Series is hosted by the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation to provide an opportunity to learn, grow and collaborate around issues of broad community importance.
Volunteer Iowa Seeks Nominees for National Service Fellowship
Volunteer Iowa is seeking nominations for community leaders in Iowa who are affiliated with organizations that have an interest in building or expanding their relationship with AmeriCorps and national service. The Fellowship is focused on individuals who identify as rural residents or as Black, Indigenous, or other Person of Color, to address the lack of Iowa national service programming led by and designed for members of these populations. Fellowship recipients will be part of a cohort that will meet monthly and will receive funding to benefit their organization and cover the costs of their participation in the program. New Opportunity for Area Nonprofit Through Grand Impact Collaboration
A collaboration of 50 businesses has pooled funds to award a $100,000 grant to a human service nonprofit that is using a unique approach to solve a recent emerging problem. Applications are due April 11, 2022, and can be found here. Find more information about Grand Impact on their Facebook page here. Three organizations will be selected to present their project on May 11, with one organization receiving the funding.
City of Marion Announces Tourism Grant Opportunity
The City of Marion is now accepting grant applications from nonprofit organizations for projects that increase tourism within the community. The funding source for these grants is the City's share of taxes collected from hotel/motel taxes. Approximately $175,000 is expected to be available for the competitive grant program in the 2022-2023 fiscal year. Applications are due by May 9, 2022. Find information here.
Nonprofits Encouraged to Participate in 4th IEDA Survey Regarding Pandemic
The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) is once again partnering with the University of Northern Iowa to undertake a survey to assess the current economic conditions and ongoing impacts of the coronavirus pandemic on Iowa's businesses and nonprofit organizations. Use this link to participate in the survey. IEDA will use the information collected through the survey to inform its public policy and programming in response to the ongoing impacts of the pandemic. The deadline to complete is Friday, April 8, 2022.
Volunteer Iowa Now Accepting Nominations for 2022 Governor's Volunteer Awards
The Volunteer Iowa is now accepting nominations for the 2022 Governor's Volunteer Awards. The Governor's Volunteer Awards program was established in 1982 and awards in three categories: Individual, Group, and Length of Service. Iowa Women's Foundation Announces Core Grants for 2023 Programs
The Iowa Women's Foundation will award six $25,000 grants to organizations tackling one of the barriers to women's economic self-sufficiency for the 2023 year. The biggest ever core grants are in celebration of the IWF's 25th anniversary of grantmaking in 2022. Core grant applications are now open.
