With spring finally here, our Service Department is eagerly jumping into some critical community improvement projects. They continue to do a tremendous amount of work in-house to make the best use of our budget dollars. The Township was recently awarded the contract for the joint road program. The 2022 resurfacing project will improve eight of our roads (David, Bryan, Stonewyck, Nature View, Ridgewater, Clearlake, Breezewood, and Conley.)
In addition, the Service Department will continue with in-house concrete slab replacements throughout the Township. During the spring and summer construction, please remember to slow down. It is important to reduce your speed to allow for more time to adjust to unforeseen circumstances. The warmer weather also brings out many pedestrians, dog walkers, bicyclists and motorcyclists. Please be courteous and yield to pedestrians and bicyclists when turning.
In light of some recent local crime, we’d like to remind residents to lock vehicles and to not keep valuables in vehicles. Lake County and surrounding counties have experienced vehicle break-ins and stolen vehicles in the recent weeks. Be vigilant! If you see anything suspicious, call your local law enforcement agency.
The use of our parks and green spaces is definitely increasing with the warmer springtime weather. We are fortunate to be partnered with Lake Metroparks to enjoy this vast amount of natural park space. Lake Metroparks offers 38 diverse parks and maintains more than 60 miles of trails throughout Lake County. Make sure you take some time to explore these parks, trails and waterfalls this spring!
Speaking of Springtime activities, the Pickle Ball and Tennis nets are going up so practice your footwork and get ready to play!
Have a great April, Concord!
