NECC News: April 2023
Spring has officially sprung! We may still have a few months of rain ahead of us, but now that the branches above our front doors have started to bloom and the sun has started peeking out from the clouds, it's clear that dryer weather is on the way. These trees serve as a poignant reminder of the season's meaning: new beginnings, growth, and rebirth. From tiny seeds, they grew into sturdy and magnificent trees with the help of water, sunlight, and care. With this cycle of life in mind, what new seeds will you plant? Whatever exciting endeavors you choose, we're here to support you.
Upcoming Dates:
  • Spring 2 Swim Lesson Registration Opens April 18 for members and April 20 for everyone
  • Hearing Health Fair with Pacific College at NECC, 1-3pm, May 20

Northeast Village PDX Celebrates Community
Last week, NECC Staff and Board had a blast celebrating Northeast Village PDX (NEV) founding members and others who have contributed to its success! Since its establishment in 2016, a community of dedicated Village members and volunteers have contributed to realizing the vision of its founders to support older adults who wish to remain active and engaged while maintaining their independence as they age in place. As a newly added program here at NECC, we look forward to integrating the Village into our work as a community center, and to fostering intergenerational relationships for the betterment of all.

A very special congratulations to NEV’s incredible work providing older adults with a space to build community and thrive!
