Recent Visit from Rev. Ruth Santana-Grace, GA Co-Moderator


The Rev. Ruth Santana-Grace, Co-Moderator of the current General Assembly spent a few days in our Presbytery recently. She spoke a few times and was able to visit places among our churches.

Rev. Deborah Troester attended one of the presentations and was moved by the message. She's provided us with a summary of what was shared.

National Recognition

First Presbyterian Church of Palo Alto has been certified as an Earth Care Congregation by the PC(U.S.A.)'s Presbyterian Hunger Program.  The Earth Care Congregation certification is designed to recognize churches that make the commitment to take seriously God’s charge to “till and keep” the garden.

To become an Earth Care Congregation, this congregation affirmed an Earth Care Pledge to integrate environmental practices and thinking into their worship, education, facilities, and outreach.

As the Presbytery of San Jose emerges from its wettest winter in recent memory, we cheer on the good people of Westview Presbyterian Church in Watsonville, who rolled up their sleeves to help neighbors in need. A Pajaro river levee broke on March 11, flooding the unincorporated town of Pajaro, just south of Watsonville on the border of Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties.

If you feel called to help those still recovering from the flooding, suggestions for ways to contribute may be found here:
Santa Theresa Hills Presbyterian Church is looking for quilters, knitters, and those who sew. Buea Maternity Clinic in Buea, Cameroon is in need of baby quilts and hats. This is a ministry the church has supported for many years and their services are expanding. Help is needed!
