Holy Week

March was a month filled with amazing celebrations! Thank you for being family together and celebrating Holy Week! Thank you for your ongoing support for all of our Children, Youth and Family Ministries!

Leisha Tays, Director of CYF Ministries, is currently on an 8-week sabbatical from April 2-May 27.

What is a sabbatical? The ELCA describes: "Sabbaticals are not vacations. While a sabbatical may include both planned activities and unplanned periods of rest, its focus is on reconnecting with one's sense of call, vocation, and spiritual journey. At the heart of a sabbatical is rest, disengagement, study, exploration, reflection and prayer."

Please engage in conversation with your children and youth to explain this time that Leisha will be away. Please be clear with them that she will be returning at the end of that time away to resume her regular role. Thank you in advance for all of your support!

CYF Event for All

Join us for CYF at Cheap Skates Family Skate!!

Let’s skate! Bring your family and be ready for a day of fun with your CYF friends! Skating, food and fun! Each family is responsible for paying their admission ahead of time and any other rental prices. Then, as a CYF group, we will gather to eat together at a time to be determined. All participants under 18 must have a parent/guardian attend with them (per Cheap Skate’s policies) and have their own transportation to and from the event.

When: Sunday, April 14th 1-3 pm (Families welcome to stay longer if they wish to. Family skate goes until 4pm).

Who: This event is ALL AGES.

**Cheap Skate Policy: For the added safety of all our guests, children under the age of 18 must be accompanied for the duration of your stay by a parent or guardian. Absolutely no drop-offs allowed. Picture ID may be requested and will be needed to enter.

Where: 3075 Coon Rapids Blvd, Coon Rapids, MN 55433

Cost: Admission is $9.99 and MUST be purchased ahead of time. There is a maximum capacity so buy your tickets as soon as you decide to participate.

Bring your own money for skates, arcade, trainers, lockers, etc. Bring an additional $10/person for food as a group.

· Roller skate (quad) rental is available for $4.49 each + tax. You may bring in your own.

· In-line (Rollerblade) rental is available for $4.49 each + tax. You may bring in your own.

· Skate trainers (walkers on wheels) are available for $6.00 each. Subject to availability on a first-come, first-served basis.

· Lockers with unlimited access are available for $5.00 for small and $7.00 for large.

· To prevent damage to Cheap Skate’s floor, your personal skates are subject to inspection. Be prepared to rent if your skates are dirty or damaged.

-All guests that enter the rink (including observing adults) will be charged admission on Fridays, along with Saturdays, and Sundays due to capacity limitations set by the State of MN.

-Caution! We use a water-based fog system and special effect lighting including strobe lights.

A Summer Camp Adventure with God

Volunteer Opportunities for Grade 6 - Adults

Vacation Bible School 2024 is a summer camp adventure with God! Explore timeless Bible stories that demonstrate how people trusted God in the face of their own fears and went on to do great things in God’s name. Camp Firelight teaches kids to trust God no matter what situation life brings, know God is always with them, and feel confident in sharing the good news of God’s love through Jesus Christ.

Cost: $30 due with registration – $75 maximum per household

Camp Wapo: ALL ages

Please note that CYF staff will be present for the entirety of our children and youth's time at Wapo this summer.

Endowment Scholarship Funds for Pursuit of Undergraduate Degree

Our Saviour’s Endowment Committee will be awarding scholarships in June. The scholarships are for pursuing an undergraduate degree or for education to grow in Christian faith. Completed application forms must be returned to the Endowment Committee mailbox by Sunday, May 15, 2024.

2024 Graduation Recognition

June 16th, 2024

8:30am and 10:15am (Graduates pick one)

Join us for a time of blessing, prayer and a gift of a handmade quilt and a book for high school graduates and special gift for post-high school graduates. Graduates will be honored in both the 8:30am traditional and the 10:15am contemporary worship services at Our Saviour’s

In addition to in-worship blessing and gifts, we will be honoring our graduates with a Senior Spotlight on Our Saviour’s Facebook page leading up to graduation and also in a slideshow during worship.
