Dear Pastoral Assistants of Faith Formation and Catechists,
The Easter season came very soon and with it, the opportunity to remember that this is one of the oldest and greatest feasts in the liturgical calendar. Preceded by 40 days of reflection, prayer, fasting and conversion, it now celebrates Jesus' triumph over death for fifty days, ending with the feast of Pentecost that expresses the culmination and fullness of the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
Easter asks us to be celebrated with joy and gladness. It is a great opportunity for mystagogy with the neophytes who received their Sacraments of initiation at the Easter Vigil, reflecting on the meaning of their journey of preparation.
Easter also allows us to reflect on the mystery of the resurrection. As we are part of Parners in the Gospel process, we look to the future in a spirit of uncertainty and unease, but at the same time of hope, changing the ways we are accustomed to in order to transform our parish life into an opportunity for revitalization and hope.
In this paschal spirit, we celebrate, participate, and share the resurrection of Christ and live His mystery of redemption. God invites us, as Formators in the Faith, to be witness of the living God, to the Risen Jesus, and to bring this joy to parents and children who continue to prepare for their First Reconciliation and Communion.
Jesus is Risen, Hallelujah!
Carlos Carrillo
Director of Faith Formation
