This year’s National Women’s History Month theme was “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion." Last month, El Camino was proud to recognize six women who exemplified this mantra of inclusion in our common quest for freedom and opportunity.
The Women’s History Month Committee sought women from the El Camino College campus and community who have contributed to the college and/or to the surrounding community to honor at the Distinguished Women's Reception.
On March 27th, El Camino College recognized these Distinguished Women who were nominated by their peers and selected by members of the Women's History Month Committee. This year's honorees included: Mele Makalo, Rachel Pittock, Argelia Andrade, Jackie LaBouff (in memoriam), Candy Paula, and Colonel Mia L. Walsh.
Congratulations to all honorees! We enjoyed learning all about you and celebrating your amazing accomplishments while promoting inclusion efforts in and around the South Bay community.
