It's with great sadness that we share the news that Andrew Nikel passed away on April 4, 2024. Andrew Nikel was a lighting professional with 40 years of experience backstage and in the front office. Andrew worked at City Theatrical for 15 years as part of the sales team, through his retirement from the company in April 2020. Andrew was well respected and loved by many in our industry. We’re sharing our April 2020 retirement interview with Andrew to celebrate his life and legacy in an Andrew Nikel Memorial page, as our most recent Employee Spotlight in the series. Lighting Designer John Priebe and the lighting team at the Peppermill Casino in Reno, Nevada were looking to highlight and enhance the three-dimensional layers of clouds in the ceiling at Romanza, an Italian restaurant on the premises, which seeks to combine locally sourced ingredients with premium meats and seafood to transport guests to old-world Italy.
