Celebrating Earth Month

April has arrived, and at BxCM, we're diving headfirst into Earth Month with a burst of excitement and exploration! 🌍✨ As we celebrate the beauty and importance of our planet, we're thrilled to unveil a lineup of educational activities that will ignite curiosity and inspire a love for nature in our young adventurers.

📚 April 13 - Special Guest: Alyssa Reynoso

Don't miss the chance to meet the author as she reads her heartwarming book, "Platanos Are Love." Join us for a delightful storytelling session filled with laughter, love, and the magic of platanos!


📖 April 20 - Join guest artist and illustrator CG Esperanza as he reads his beloved children's book, captivating young hearts with his enchanting storytelling!

We love to create engaging new art projects

and science experiments at the Museum every month!

 

🌱 April 6 - Get creative and eco-friendly with our Collaborative Recycled Installation project, where every piece tells a unique story of sustainability and imagination!


🔭 April 6 - Gear up for an out-of-this-world experience with our Solar Eclipse viewers & Henna activity! Witness the wonders of the cosmos and adorn yourself with intricate henna designs for an unforgettable day!


✂️ April 13 - Embark on a journey through the art of paper cutting with our Scherenschnitte activity inspired by the timeless tales of Hans Christian Andersen. Learn the art of paper cutting and create intricate silhouettes that bring your favorite stories to life.


🌿 April 20 - Explore the beauty of nature with our Gelli Plate Nature prints workshop. Using natural objects like leaves and flowers, we'll create stunning prints on gelli plates, allowing our imaginations to run wild with colorful creations.

Women's History Month Recognition

On Thursday, March 14, Executive Director Denise Rosario Adusei was recognized by Senator Richie Torres at New York Botanical Garden as part of Women's History Month. Adusie accepted the honor on behalf of the Museum accompanied by fellow women staff members of the Museum.

United Way EEAP Bookmobile and Book Fair

Black Studies: An Education for Me + You

The United Way EEAP Bookmobile & Book Fair rolled into the Bronx Children's Museum, bringing an interactive library on wheels to engage Pre-K-8 students and families. Visitors were treated to a preview of the Black Studies curriculum coming to NYC schools, while over 1,000 culturally responsive books were distributed for free. This immersive experience not only fosters identity and highlights the Black experience but also encourages a love for reading and learning within the Bronx community. Nature of the Bronx Kick Off

BxCM's Nature of the Bronx in-school programs kicked off this month! NOTB immerses students in the vibrant ecosystem of the Bronx through engaging workshops. Students discover the beauty of nature right in their own backyard while learning about conservation and environmental stewardship.

Nicole Wright Joins Bronx Children's Museum Board

We're thrilled to announce and extend a warm welcome to Nicole Wright, the newest member of the Bronx Children's Museum board!


Nicole brings a wealth of expertise and a passion for community engagement to our team. As an Executive Director and Assistant General Counsel at JPMorgan Chase & Co., she's been at the forefront of shaping corporate initiatives, advocating for diversity, and fostering meaningful connections. Her dedication to empowering women through initiatives like Women on the Move and her commitment to philanthropy through roles such as co-chair of the Charitable Giving Council truly embody our mission at #BxCM.
