Wissahickon Valley Historical Society to Host Speaker on the Historic Boxwood Farm’s Harley Family
The local Historical Society is hosting Bob Harley, family genealogist, who will speak about how he investigated generations of his family, once owners of Skippack Pike’s historic Boxwood Farm and about noted professional baseball player, Dick Harley, who lived there.
The Wissahickon Valley Historical Society announces its April speaker, and the public is cordially invited. Questions should be emailed to info@WValleyHS.org.
On Monday, April 8, at 7 PM at the 1895 Public School, 799 West Skippack Pike, Blue Bell, PA, Bob Harley will speak about the Harleys who lived at “The Boxwood,” presently the offices of PA Representative Liz Hanbidge. Bob’s grandfather is Dick Harley, and a plaque at Wentz Run Park recognizes his outstanding 19th-century baseball career.
