With deep sorrow, we joined the world in mourning the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis. His unwavering commitment to compassion, justice, and faith has left an indelible mark on humanity. His legacy will continue to inspire us all.
"Eternal rest grant unto Francis, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen"

The Cost of Inaction
Are you aware that the buildings of St. Bon’s campus are in dire need of repair? Are you aware that their lifespan, if not restored, is near the end? Without sound buildings, we cannot provide a sound education. It’s that simple. Delaying maintenance further will come at a very high cost: closing the doors of St. Bonaventure’s College. No matter the cost of addressing our repairs, paying the cost of inaction is a cost we cannot afford. Our What did you give Today? Capital Campaign has raised $2,591,304 in gifts and pledges to date, bringing us to 52% of our goal. Please give to our capital campaign because the cost of your inaction is also too great. It’s up to us. Our time to act is now, please join us.

Testimonials
"As a recent recipient of a RISE (Research Inspired Student Enrichment) award, I acknowledge the profound contribution St. Bon’s has had on my academic and personal growth. St. Bon’s is not just a school – it is a thriving community built on support, ambition, and excellence. The exceptional teaching staff at St. Bon’s cannot be overlooked. Without a doubt, they are the most caring, skilled, and compassionate staff I have ever experienced. Teachers sacrifice personal time to offer help centres and a wide variety of extracurriculars. The Music Program provides a structure no other school in the province does, which shows in the many achievements the program has received. I love St. Bon’s because it has challenged me to achieve levels of academic and personal growth that I never thought possible.”

What's Happening at St. Bon's?
April was a condensed month, and we were grateful for the well-deserved break that followed—especially the opportunity to celebrate Easter with loved ones. Now, with a renewed spirit, we’re ready to tackle the final stretch of the school year with enthusiasm. As we look back, here are some of April's most shareworthy moments:
- We proudly hosted our annual Oratorical Showcase. The goal of our Oratorical Program is to offer students an opportunity to develop and refine their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Our Junior and Senior High students spent considerable time selecting topics, conducting research, and writing well-crafted speeches. In addition, they practiced speaking skills to prepare for this presentation to their classmates. A select group from each grade level then took the stage to deliver their speeches to their families. Their hard work and dedication were evident, making for an inspiring and memorable event. Congratulations to all who participated—you did an outstanding job!
- Our Student Council hosted an unforgettable Spirit Week, bringing excitement and energy to both buildings! From themed dress-up days like Superfan Day and Crazy Hair Day to thrilling contests like a Timbit eating challenge and Battle of the Beads, every moment was packed with fun. Outings to Bowling and Get Air kept the enthusiasm high, while a teacher vs. student basketball game added some friendly competition. We wrapped up the week with a delicious Pizza Lunch, generously provided by our wonderful PA—thank you! It was a week filled with laughter, camaraderie, and lasting memories!

Congratulations to Grade 11 students, Grace N. and Keegan S., who were recently presented with RISE awards by Minister Parsons. Recipients of the RISE awards are Level II high school students who demonstrate academic excellence in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. RISE award recipients are awarded an opportunity to attend research-related summer enrichment programs. Grace and Keegan will be travelling to Boston for 3 weeks this summer. We are so proud!
- Earlier this month, our Grade 4 students engaged in an exciting cross-curricular learning project that brought together Social Studies, English Language Arts, and cutting-edge technology. As part of their study of world cultures, students independently researched various countries, exploring unique aspects of each nation's history, geography, and traditions. They then used their findings to design coins that represented the culture of their chosen country, incorporating imagery and symbols that highlighted its identity. With guidance from our Memorial University Engineering students Tyler Badcock and Matthew Coady, the designs were brought to life using our 3-D printer. This hands-on project not only deepened students' understanding of global cultures but also sparked their creativity, developed their research and writing skills, and introduced them to innovative technologies. Everyone did such an amazing job!
