Step into April's Challenge Day by taking part in the Skagit Lead & Serve Expo

The Community Services & Stewardship Challenge Day will take place April 11 at Skagit Valley College.

The second annual Skagit Lead & Serve Expo will take place as part of the day's experiential learning.

The expo is a volunteer and board service fair for community members who are interested in making our community a better place to live. If you are looking for a new volunteer or board opportunity, come meet representatives from a variety of local non-profit organizations, serving a wide range of people and issues in Skagit County, and find out where you belong.

Sponsors for the Challenge Day are Chinook Enterprises and Helping Hands Food Bank. We appreciate the support of these organizations, which both have LS graduates among their employees.

We also want to extend our gratitude to the dedicated volunteers on the Challenge Day committee. Thank you to this month's committee members: Tracy Montaron (LS '14), Maddy Mackenzie (Executive Director of Skagit Community Foundation), Lauren Christian (LS '23), Jill Pickering (Skagit Community Foundation), and Diane Peterson (Skagit Community Foundation). We greatly appreciate their work in planning and executing the event, including arranging content and securing guest speakers and nonprofits for the Lead & Serve Expo.

Habitat for Humanity's Raise the Roof Gala will take place April 12. Several Leadership Skagit Alumni are registering and would like to invite you to join their table. If you can attend, please register and inform Habitat for Humanity that you would like to be added to the Leadership Skagit table. This is a wonderful opportunity to support this nonprofit organization with a dedicated Leadership Skagit alumna leading the efforts.

Be our hero and help sponsor May's Arts & Culture Challenge Day! If your organization is involved in the arts or values what arts and culture brings to our lives (or just love Philip Prud'Homme's improv session during the challenge day), please consider a sponsorship of $500-$1,000. Contact Gina Eakin for sponsor details, gina@skagit.org.
