Easter Weekend 2025!

That’s the total number of people who attended a service on Easter weekend at Evergreen’s three newest churches: Counterculture PDX, Generations Eugene, and One Church Seattle. Within that number are powerful individual stories—people hearing the good news of Jesus for the very first time, others finding a place they can finally call home, and many experiencing renewal, second chances, and the joy of serving in God’s Kingdom.

That’s the number of people who were either baptized this weekend or made the decision to follow Jesus and plan to be baptized soon! This number includes Kyle, a self described atheist/agnostic for most of his life. This last year Kyle was invited to join a weekly dinner party by his neighbor after a bad break-up. After many conversations and the work of the gospel, Kyle gave his life to Jesus and chose to be baptized on Sunday at Counterculture Church (pictured). What a beautiful picture of resurrection power—new life through Jesus!

That’s the combined number of people that gathered for services this weekend with The Cove, Odyssey Church, and Society Church— churches that are all set to officially launch this Fall. Each of these core teams used Easter weekend to have a “soft launch” of sorts with 20+ people making a decision to follow Jesus in baptism. And these churches haven’t even officially had their grand opening yet!

While numbers don’t tell the full story of what God is doing, they do represent real people with real stories—families, students, and neighbors who are hungry for the hope of the gospel. And that is something worth celebrating!

This is the most important number of the weekend: ONE. One amazing God who works through imperfect pastors and churches in unlikely places to meet people right where they are. One God who offers grace to you and to me through the person of Jesus Christ. He is the One who breathes life into us and makes all things new.
