Earth Day And Transportation

Since 1970, Earth Day on April 22nd has been helping to raise awareness and improve the health of the planet. The ABC Ramps Mobility Hub allows commuters to connect the dots for sustainable and affordable transportation downtown, reducing the combustion of fossil fuels and still meeting their commuting needs downtown:

Earth Day reminds us what individuals can do to inspire behavior change that leads to real impacts. Your daily commute can play a large part!

New Bus Routes in the East and West Metro

METRO Gold Line, Metro Transit’s sixth Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), opened on March 22nd to great fanfare. The Gold Line connects Woodbury, Maplewood and downtown St Paul with dedicated bus-only lanes for most of the 10-mile route, supporting fast, frequent service. From downtown St. Paul, commuters to downtown Minneapolis have an easy transfer onto the #94 bus. Within two years the Gold Line is planned to replace the #94 route for an even faster connection between the two downtowns.

Following on the heels of the Gold Line was the launch of Southwest Transit’s route #686, which provides a direct connection from SouthWest Station in Eden Prairie to MSP International Airport. Commuters to downtown Minneapolis can transfer easily from #686 to the METRO Orange Line BRT. Hourly service to MSP runs seven days a week, from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
