Pardall Gardens Groundbreaking Ceremony

IVRPD invites you to our Peaceful Pardall Groundbreaking Ceremony on Friday, April 11th from 9:30 to 10:30am. We will be celebrating the start of construction on our Pardall Gardens to renovate and improve the existing park.

The groundbreaking ceremony will take place at Pardall Gardens on 6524 Pardall Rd, Isla Vista. We will be having a performance from the Brasscals, a street brass band started by local musicians in Santa Barbara, and a showcase of bubbles from the SB Bubble Guy. IVRPD will be providing refreshments and cake to celebrate. We hope to see you there!

Park Renovation Update

Window to the Sea Park and Pescadero Park will remain closed due to fence replacements and habitat corridor enhancements in order to keep everyone safe on our bluff tops. Fence replacements estimated to be completed in mid-May and the parks will open shortly after.

Deltopia Cleanup

This Sunday, April 6th we are hosting our annual Deltopia Clean-Up event in collaboration with the Isla Vista Community Services District and UCSB's Environmental Affairs Board.

This event will run from 11am - 2pm and volunteers will meet at our district office to sign in: 961 Embarcadero del Mar

We will be offering free pizza and cinnabread after the cleanup while supplies last from Woodstock's!

We are excited to see you there and have a safe Deltopia weekend.

Upcoming Stewardship Calendar

Saturday, April 12, 2025, we will be hosting a Stewardship event from 11am to 1pm at Estero Park! This will be the first Stewardship event of the quarter. We will be preparing our garden for some Spring Garden Planting and making art in the garden. Our team looks forward to having you there! Spring Concert Series

We invite you to our Spring Concert Series on Saturdays April 19th, April 26th, and May 3rd. This year we will be hosting our Spring Concert Series in collaboration with Gauchos for Recovery, UCSB Environmental Affairs Board, and Raices De Mi Tierra. All the concerts will have special themes this year!

Queerfest hosted by UCSB's Trans and Queer Commission will be happening Saturday, April 12th from 12pm to 3pm at Little Acorn Park. We look forward to seeing you there!

Reminder: Dog Rules for Community Gardens

Just a quick reminder that dogs are not permitted in the garden, as outlined in our community guidelines. This ensures everyone's safety and enjoyment.

Additionally, we kindly ask that gardeners refrain from using synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides as per our Organic Policy (3A0.030). Let's continue to nurture our garden with natural methods that supports a thriving ecosystem for all plants, pollinators, and people.

Park Rental Inquiries Changes

Isla Vista Recreation & Parks District is changing its park rental inquiry protocols. From now on please request and mail all park rental inquiries to ivrpd@ivparks.org. Thank you for your understanding!
