Dear friends,
Can you believe April is here? I am excited to start getting back outside to enjoy all that our great city has to offer! Whether I’m taking my dog for a walk down Magnolia, riding my horse on the trails, or enjoying lunch on a patio, the warmer weather instantly lifts my mood!
In our AFP world, April is a busy month. Our Peer Learning groups were matched on Monday night during a fun get together at Magnolia Wine Bar organized by our co-directors Jessica Walsh and Nathaniel Aranda. We have 45 members participating this year! Olivia Barhorst and her National Philanthropy Day committee announced an awards extension, so if you haven’t had a chance to get your nomination in, you now have until Friday, April 4. The AFP International Conference will be held at the end of the month in Seattle and I’m excited to represent our chapter this year. If you are planning to attend ICON, please let me know so we can plan a local meet up!
I’m happy to share that our upcoming monthly chapter program will delve into the insightful messages from the book "The Ten Laws of Fundraising" by JB Horton. One of the key takeaways from the book is the importance of authenticity in donor interactions. This reminds me that simple, honest stories about our missions are often the best approach to fostering lasting relationships with our donors.
Our monthly chapter programs offer opportunities to gain new insights and connect with fellow members, so I hope you will plan to join us on April 14 at ACH!
Thank you for your continued support and dedication. Let's make April a month of growth and learning together.
Warm regards,
P.S. Scroll down to read another fun and important message from Former Chapter President and Historian, Pat Miller, who is donning her Sherlock hat and hunting for treasures!
