I was working on a message to share with you this month and my wife, who is also a pastor, told me about what she was writing for the newsletter at her churches this month. I felt that it was the perfect message and with her permission, I am sharing it with you ...

Quite a few years ago I did something stupid. Ok, we all do stupid things and more often than not in ones lifetime we do many. However, this one was particularly embarrassing. I was working in Chicago at the egg and cheese company I had been employed at for almost 20 years. The office staff all had our own cubicles. Around Christmas time there were often goodies in the break room and that year someone gave a large basket with fruits and nuts. Some of the nuts were walnuts still in their shell...but, nobody had a nutcracker. Some of us tried to hit them with our staplers or stomp on them with a shoe.

Habitat for Humanity
In the month of April, your donations will be sent to Starke/Pulaski Habitat for Humanity, which develops decent housing in which people can live and grow into all the God intended.

LITTLE LIGHTS PRESCHOOL
There is excitement in the air at Little Lights Preschool - finally Spring is here! Our preschoolers are anticipating warm weather and a lot of outdoor fun (especially in our outdoor play area)!
We will do interesting activities related to Spring and Easter. We will have an Easter Egg hunt and an Easter party in the classroom.
We will continue to have Show & Tell on Fridays. This month the objects will begin with the letters O,P,Q,R,S,T,U & V.
Our preschoolers will start hearing stories this month about why we really celebrate Easter. We celebrate the day Jesus came back to life!

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN
The UMW met in Fellowship Hall on Tuesday, March 11th. Everyone was glad to be together again after two winter months off! Nine members were in attendance. President Lynette Altman opened the meeting with the Vision of UMW. Kathy Ward gave the financial report. We agreed that for a relatively small group, we are making a big impact, having donated of $1,400 in the past year to our UMW district, Bashor UM Children's Home, the Lucille Raines Residence, UMCOR, and Missions. Kathy Ward gave an inspirational program and provided delicious refreshments. We signed beautiful greeting cards created by Candice Schilz and addressed by Barbara McLaughlin. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, April 8th, at 1:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. All women of the church are invited!!!
