Hallmark Communities Completes Construction at Marlowe at Palomar Heights

As general contractor, Hallmark was proud to oversee construction of the 162 rental townhomes, working closely with our partners at Greystar to ensure quality, integrity, and attention to detail at every phase of the build. Marlowe reflects Hallmark’s continued evolution—expanding to include meaningful collaborations with leading developers on high-impact rental communities across the region. | | |
KB Home Builds the First Fire Resilient Neighborhood
In June, Steve Ruffner, President of KB Home Coastal, watched a demonstration where two sheds were set on fire, and he was shocked by the results. One shed, built using the 1980's construction code, burned in 45 minutes; the other shed, built using new fire-resistant techniques, didn't burn at all. The demonstration was so radical that KB Home stopped production on their Dixon Trail community in Escondido, and incorporated the new fire-resistant design features. Using these techniques, these homes are likely to remain standing should a fire come to the area, and it is believed that the community would act as a fire break to the surrounding neighborhood. The City of Escondido and various insurance groups were on-board with these changes, and the first residents have already moved-in.
