April is Alcohol Awareness Month.

It is a time to raise awareness and understanding of alcohol use and misuse. It offers communities a chance to gain more understanding of how individuals struggle with alcohol use and offers resources and support.

This month also highlights the dangers of impaired driving, emphasizing the importance of making safe choices behind the wheel.

In Connecticut, impaired driving-related crashes have been on the rise, making awareness and prevention more important than ever. Through education and responsible decision-making, we can help reduce these incidents and create safer roads for everyone.

The Connecticut Clearinghouse is a statewide comprehensive library and resource center for information and materials on substance use, mental health, prevention, health promotion, harm reduction, treatment, recovery, wellness, and related topics. We offer materials such as posters, and pamphlets, library books, and DVDs, and provide access to e-books, and streaming media. Our services and resources are available for professionals, students, parents and the general Connecticut public. We are funded by the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
