Celebrate Earth Month at

Broward County Parks!

Every day is Earth Day at Broward County Parks! From EcoAction Days where people can volunteer to help remove trash and plant native plants to mitigation programs that restore and protect our wetland areas in our parks, there are so many ways we can positively impact our community and our world. Broward County Parks is often the last line of environmental defense for conservation and preservation. EcoAction Volunteer Work Days

Helping our parks by volunteering to clean up trash, remove invasive species, and plant native plants is essential for a healthier community and environment. We have regularly scheduled EcoAction Days every Saturday of the month at various parks and nature centers.

Gopher Tortoise Day at Fern Forest Nature Center

Join us for a free guided gopher tortoise walk on April 10 at noon at Fern Forest Nature Center. We will explore the gopher tortoise habitat.

Focus on your wellness in nature at Miramar Pineland on April 11 at 10:30AM. Activities include yoga, a wellness talk by Health Coach Margot Olson, and a guided nature walk, Please bring your own yoga mat.

Free Tree Giveaway at Miramar Pineland


Join us on April 18 at 8AM for our free tree giveaway at Miramar Pineland. This drive-through event is presented by Commissioner Alexandra P. Davis. There will be a variety of trees to choose from. One tree per Broward County household. Registration is required.

Kids Program at Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium

Kids can learn about South Florida's natural environment through reading, crafts, and hands-on activities. The free recurring event is on April 25 at 11AM for children 6 to 12 years old with an adult.

Visit our Water Parks!

Swim and splash at a Broward County water park near you! Visit our water parks at C.B. Smith (Paradise Cove), T.Y. Park (Castaway Island), and Quiet Waters (Splash Adventure). This month the water parks are open weekends only and will open daily starting June 4!

Special Populations

Throughout the year, our Special Populations team plans a variety of activities and events to meet the needs of children, teens, adults, and seniors with disabilities. From bowling to tandem bike riding to adaptive kayaking, these activities promote physical and mental health.

Participants from our first ever Runway Without Limits fashion show on March 21 at Long Key Nature Center. The unique, inclusive event featured individuals with limb loss.

Did You Know?


  • Nature Centers are always free to enter.
  • Regional parks are free to enter M-F and there is a weekend/holiday gate fee of $3/vehicle (8 or fewer occupants).
  • Admission is always free at regional parks for pedestrians, bicyclists and horse back riders. (Horse back riders only at Tree Tops, Tradewinds, and Vista View Parks).
