BENJAMIN ADAMO
CLASS OF 2026
Senior, Benjamin Adamo will be attending Stevens Institute of Technology next year where he will major in Chemical Biology. He plans on attending their five year master’s program. Benjamin’s favorite classes at North Hunterdon were Organic Chemistry and AP Language. Organic Chemistry was difficult, but in a rewarding way. All the labs were helpful in learning how things were made. For example, the class used steam distillation to create essential oils and used saponification of olive oil to create soap. Benjamin also enjoyed drawing the structure of organic chemicals. He had a great time in the class no matter who he worked with in his lab group. Benjamin is involved in cross-country, winter track, spring track, Science Honor Society, Special Olympics, and the FCA Club. Outside of school he has a part-time job at Jen’s Happy Pets where he pet-sits. Benjamin’s favorite memories from attending North were sitting with friends and showing school spirit at pep rallies, waking up early to get to a crisp-autumn weathered cross-country race, seeing his teammates do well and cheering them on as they got a PR (personal record), and laughing with his friends at his terrible school photos. Benjamin says his experience at North contained more cast members than any high school movie. It contained late nights grinding out homework, late nights hanging out with friends, late nights running with the team, but most importantly late nights he will never forget.

KATHERINE O'SULLIVAN
CLASS OF 2026
Senior, Katherine O’Sullivan has had an excellent four years at North. Katherine is a member of National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, Science Honor Society, and Thespian Honor Society, which she is the treasurer of. She has also done volunteer work as a member of Key Club. Katherine’s favorite volunteer work she is involved in is set building for the school’s plays and musicals. She has been doing set building since freshman year and has made many friends through it. Katherine is a member of stage crew for NHTO. She has been doing stage crew since freshman year and has participated in Les Miserable, Harvey, Freaky Friday, Play On!, Mamma Mia, 67 Cinderellas, and Shrek. She is the Assistant Stage Manager and Lord of the Flies, where she moves backdrops and set pieces up and down. Katherine’s favorite classes at North Hunterdon were Honors Algebra 2, AP Chemistry, and Digital Media 3. Algebra 2 was a challenging class but Mrs. Luick made it very fun, especially during the end of year Hawaiian party. AP Chemistry challenged Katherine the most, but Mrs. Plaxe is an amazing teacher who made the class fun. Digital Media was a class where she was able to let out her creativity and where Mr. Maxwell pushed her to think outside of the box when making videos. Katherine says her experience at North has been challenging but also rewarding. Through her time at North, she has been given opportunities she would not have been able to have anywhere else and has been able to make lasting friendships. Katherine says her favorite memories these past four years are being backstage during the musicals with her friends lip syncing or dancing to the songs. Her most recent favorite memory is going to see her first Broadway show, The Outsiders, with her friends on the Thespian Broadway trip. Katherine loves to read in her free time and plans on majoring in Engineering in college next year.

TANNER FIORE
CLASS OF 2026
Senior, Tanner Fiore is a two-year member of the varsity basketball team at North Hunterdon. Tanner is a full-time starter who was an integral part of the team at both ends of the floor and as a leader. Because of Tanner’s efforts, he earned the team’s Defensive MVP Award and was named to the Skyland Conference Honorable Mention Team. Some of Tanner’s strongest skills are his court vision, defense, and ability to make plays for his teammates. Recently, the team competed in the NJSIA Group 3 State tournament. Tanner had his personal record for most points scored in a season this year, and also led the team in assists and blocks. He has played basketball competitively since second grade and up until his freshman year, he competed in AAU basketball. Tanner enjoys thinking and learning about basketball so much he is considering becoming a coach when he is older. Next year, Tanner plans to continue playing basketball at a rec or club level in college. He is currently undecided for where he will attend college, but plans to major in Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence. Tanner says his experience at North has helped him grow both as an athlete and as a person. North taught him the importance of hard work, teamwork, and leadership.

LOUIS PATRICK PALMA
CLASS OF 2026
Senior, Patrick Palma has been a steadfast performer on North’s Indoor Track 4x800 meter relay team. This past season, the Lions qualified for and competed in a number of elite meets such as The Millrose Games, New Balance Nationals, and the NJSIAA Meet of Champions, in which they placed 4th. On an individual level, Patrick qualified for the NJ Group 3 State Meet in the 1600 meter run. Patrick’s strongest skill in the sport is staying focused in races and keeping the team motivated. He is a distance runner focusing mostly on the Mile and 4x800 relay. Patrick has been running since he was in fifth grade. He was a member of the cross country team at his middle school and has been running road races since he was in elementary school. Outside of running, Patrick is a member of the National Honor Society and Peer leadership. He says North has given him an opportunity to meet his closest friends and attending this school has given him some great memories. Next year, Patrick will continue to run cross country and track in college. He is currently committed to run at Rowan University. Patrick will be majoring in Music Industry with a focus on Music Business to become a producer, sound engineer, or record label owner.

Student & Staff Accolades & Accomplishments
Hear us ROAR!
| | |
This year, we had several students participate in the 2026 New Jersey State Bar Foundation (NJSBF) Courtroom Artist Competition, and North came out as the winners!
Competing against 133 entries from 35 schools statewide, our students demonstrated incredible skill in capturing the fast-paced drama of the legal system. This interactive experience challenges students to sharpen their analytical and artistic talents.
Join us in celebrating our Lion Pride talented winners:
1st Place: Ava Van Inwegen
3rd Place: Ivy Sorhage
Honorable Mention: Elizabeth Spann
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
| | 1st Place: Ava Van Inwegen | | | | Honorable Mention: Elizabeth Spann | | Hunterdon Medical Center Field Trip! | | |
On March 5, the North Hunterdon Anatomy Program visited Hunterdon Health for a day focused on exploring careers in medicine. The experience was designed to give NHHS students a firsthand look at the many professional pathways within the medical field.
| | | Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to interact with a wide range of medical professionals, including nurses, physicians, laboratory technicians, paramedics, and mortuary workers. They also toured several key areas of the hospital, including the MICU, Emergency Department, blood laboratory, culture lab, and more. These behind-the-scenes experiences gave students a deeper understanding of how different departments work together to provide patient care. The hands-on activities and meaningful conversations with medical professionals made the day both engaging and inspiring for the students. | | |
Thanks to our girls' volleyball program, especially student leaders Keegan Hissner and Kat Wolf, for organizing and running this year's Spike for a Cure. $25,000 was raised for the Jason P. Schaible Foundation on March 11th!
Over 700 students participated in a day filled with competitive and non-competitive volleyball, costumes, and fun!
| | | North Hunterdon High School Family and Consumer Science teacher Hope Kiehl has been named a 2026 Distinguished Graduate by Western Governors University. The recognition honors alumni who are making meaningful contributions in their professions and communities. At North Hunterdon, Ms. Kiehl teaches life skills courses that prepare students for independent living. She also leads the statewide initiative, Leading a Lifetime of Life Skills, partnering with organizations such as Best Buddies and the Girl Scouts to provide hands-on workshops that teach practical life skills to young people across New Jersey. | | | | | |
Congratulations to NHHS senior Teresa Pettorsson, who was recognized on March 4 as an Unsung Hero by the Hunterdon County School Boards Association!
Sometimes, heroes and heroines walk among us, and we don’t even know who they are. They can make outstanding contributions to their schools and communities even though they are often overlooked under traditional student recognition guidelines. Unsung heroes and heroines can be people who make their school a better place because of their warm personality, their empathy, and concern for others. Tess encompasses all these traits, and we are excited that she was honored with this recognition!

North Hunterdon would like to thank a local Hunterdon County business for the generous donation of a brand new 10x15-foot American Flag and a new POW flag. Baker Construction, owned by Don Baker and his sons Jordan and Gregory have been serving our community for over 40 years.
Recently, Don noticed that the flag we had flying on our 60-foot flagpole was not the correct size for such a tall pole and brought over a new one.
We are grateful to Baker Construction for their generosity and long-standing commitment to our community, and for helping to make North Hunterdon an even prouder place for our students and staff.
| | Congratulations to the cast and crew of Shrek The Musical! Audience members of all ages enjoyed sold out preformances. Bravo to everyone involved in making this magic happen! | | |
Please enjoy some drawings from Mrs. Lentine's Color & Design I/II class.
