Get creative this Spring at the Art Center!
Spring is a season of renewal — a time when new ideas take root and creativity begins to bloom. At the Art Center, we see this spirit reflected in every studio, classroom, and gallery as artists of all ages explore, experiment, and express what matters most to them.
Artistic expression is more than a skill; it is a way of understanding ourselves and one another. Whether it’s a child discovering new colors for the first time, a teen finding their artistic voice, or an adult returning to creative practice, art offers a powerful means of connection, growth, and transformation.
Your engagement makes this possible. It ensures that our programs remain open, welcoming, and accessible — nurturing creativity at every stage of life and strengthening the bonds that make our community vibrant.
Thank you for supporting the Art Center!

We are now accepting your donations of art through September. Donations sought include paintings, prints, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, textiles, and arty objects of all sorts. Please do not bring us unprotected pastels and charcoal drawings as they present handling and display problems.
Please bring your donations to the Art Center office during open hours: Monday – Friday, 10:00 am – 5:30 pm and Saturdays, 12:00 – 4:00 pm when exhibits are on display (please check our current exhibit dates).
| | Two Shows Open April 3rd: | | | | |
The Art Center presents two shows that open on April 3 and are on display through April 24. In the Main Gallery is “Witness: Earth & Sky,” featuring the work of Rich Bergeman and Amanda Thomas. Both artists focus on landscape, with Bergeman emphasizing the appropriation of the land and Thomas its despoliation.
In the Salon Gallery is “Consume & Dispose,” showcasing the work of Jennifer Bucheit and Ralf Huber. Bucheit comments through her art on American consumerism, while Huber poignantly illustrates the human cost of child labor.
Two Artist Talks will be held, one on Saturday, April 4, from 1 – 2 pm, for “Witness: Earth & Sky,” and the second on Saturday, April 18, from 1 – 2 pm, for “Consume & Dispose.” The public is invited to hear the artists share their visions at these free events.

The show also highlights eight artists – Deborah Dailey, Hannah Goldrich, Barbara Kensler, Marcia Macdonald, Terry McIlrath, Jerril Nilson, Lynn Peterson, and Greg Wilbur - who have been influential mentors and touchstones throughout Pfeifer’s career.

| | INTRODUCING STEVE STEINAWAY | | | | |
The Art Center is very happy to welcome Steve Steinaway to our staff. He replaces outgoing Director of Education Tony Hooks. Steve, who has a background in animation and digital media, is no stranger to the Center, having taught watercolor classes and instructed last year’s summer art camps. He was recently honored as the Art Center’s 2025 Instructor of the Year.
Asked about his aspirations for the Education Program, Steve said: “I’d love to build on what’s already working while creating more opportunities for students to keep growing and developing their skills over time. I’m especially interested in adding new levels or pathways so students can continue learning as they progress.” Welcome, Steve!
