NCFRW – Celebrating America's 250th Birthday all year long!

April 2026

From Erica Vedeikis, NCFRW President

Welcome, Spring!

First and foremost, a big shout out to each and every one of you for a successful Primary season. Across North Carolina, Republican Women showed up in force—volunteering for candidates, making phone calls, knocking doors, working the polls during Early Voting and on Election Day, serving as Poll Observers and Poll Workers, and even stepping forward to run for office yourselves. Your dedication is what keeps our Party strong and moving forward.

Now, our slate is set for the November General Election—and so is our mission:

Elect Republicans up and down the ballot across North Carolina. But achieving that mission starts now.

What does that mean for Republican Women across our state?

It means one critical focus: VOTER TURNOUT.

Historically, midterm elections suffer from low voter turnout—but we cannot afford that in 2026. The stakes are simply too high. If we fail to get our voters to the polls, we risk losing momentum and allowing Democrats to reverse the progress made under Donald J. Trump and his administration.

While many impactful policies have been advanced through Executive Orders, lasting change requires a Republican-led Congress. We must secure victories in both the U.S. House and U.S. Senate to ensure those policies are protected and made permanent.

Let’s be clear:

Yes—President Trump is on the ballot.

His name may not appear directly, but it stands beside every candidate with an “R” next to their name. Voting for him in 2024 was important—but voting for Republican candidates in 2026 is vital to ensuring he can finish his term strong and deliver on the promises made to the American people.

Now is the time to act.

Start within your clubs today—develop a plan to drive voter turnout in your communities. That plan can include:

  • Hosting voter registration drives
  • Organizing meet-and-greet events with candidates
  • Participating in NFRW and NCFRW Strike Force efforts
  • Making phone calls and knocking on doors
  • Attending local events to engage and educate voters on the importance of the midterm elections

Every conversation matters. Every voter matters. Every vote matters. We can do this.

Let’s show President Trump that we have his back—just like he has always had ours.

Reflection by Margaux Holland, Chaplain

Little did George Washington know that when he married Martha Dandridge Custis that she would turn out to be the resilient and loving mother of our new nation. God was and is providential today even when we do not know it. “He is the same yesterday, today, and forever” Hebrews 13:8.

Dottie Martin Scholarship Fund Luncheon - May 2

The North Carolina Federation of Republican Women established the Dottie Martin Teachers Scholarship Fund in 1991 in honor of First Lady Dottie Martin’s work and dedication to the families and youth of North Carolina. This annual scholarship of $500.00 is designed for a man or a woman presently enrolled and studying the field of education.

This year, at our Spring Board Meeting, we will host the Annual Dottie Martin Scholarship Luncheon. We are asking that all our NCFRW clubs bring a basket to raffle off during the luncheon to raise funds for the Scholarship.

Virginia Republicans: April 21 — Volunteer to Help Stop the Democrat Gerrymander!

Virginia Democrats are attempting one of the most brazen power grabs in Virginia's history, a partisan, unconstitutional redistricting scheme designed to rig Virginia's congressional maps and silence millions of Republican voters. In a purely party-line vote, Democrats used a procedurally improper special session to fast-track a constitutional amendment that would gut Virginia's own bipartisan Redistricting Commission, a commission that 66% of Virginians voted to create in 2020, and replace it with a Democrat-drawn map that would hand them 10 out of 11 congressional seats in a state that is nearly evenly divided. Multiple courts have already ruled this effort unconstitutional, finding that Democrats violated their own legislative rules, exceeded the scope of the special session, and failed to comply with the Virginia Constitution's requirements for ballot amendments. A Tazewell County judge declared the amendment "void ab initio" — invalid from the very start — and a second judge blocked it again on separate grounds. Despite these rulings, Democrats continue to press forward, leaving the April 21 vote hanging in legal limbo while early voting has already begun. This is not fairness; the Democrats' own ballot language cynically uses the word "restore fairness" in an attempt to mislead voters. On April 21, every Virginia Republican must get out and VOTE to protect fair representation and the rule of law.

And to our members across the country, you can help by signing up to make phone calls, knock on doors, write postcards, and get Virginia Republicans to the polls.

We NEED more volunteers to make calls!

If you have time to make calls between now and April 21st, we really need your help! Sign up with the link above. You do not have to be from Virginia to volunteer.

Will There Be another Resolution? by Kay Wildt

Hereditary Freedom or Hereditary Bondage - A Choice

In a recent Resolution, North Carolina Governor Josh Stein commended the observance of Ramadan to all North Carolinians. Will he do the same for Passover and Easter?

Over the past 250 years, Americans fought and died to keep the freedoms enshrined in our U.S. Constitution - the law of our land. Barbary Coast pirates in Thomas Jefferson's day enslaved our sailors, and thanks to our military, especially U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Navy, we prevailed and defeated those pirates. But history has a funny way of repeating itself.

Today, voters in cities like New York City, Dearborn and Minneapolis, choose modern-day pirates as leaders - leaders who use our freedoms to take advantage of our generous government. We've welcomed many from around the world, but some came, not to contribute, but to take - and to take over - by subverting our laws.

When the citizenry of a nation does not share basic beliefs and does not adhere to the same legal system, that is a problem. A growing number in those beleaguered cities espouse beliefs that are not compatible with our U.S. Constitution, and they would replace our U.S. Constitution with another law - Sharia law.

Some Members of Congress are concerned and have started the Sharia-Free America Caucus, currently at 60 members, dedicated to opposing the influence of Sharia law and protecting Western civilization and the U.S. Constitution. It behooves all of us to know what Sharia law is and what we face. To learn more, these are a few good resources:

Thomas Jefferson's quote reminds us that each generation is responsible for keeping America free. “Honor, justice, and humanity, forbid us tamely to surrender that freedom which we received from our gallant ancestors, and which our innocent posterity have a right to receive from us.

We cannot endure the infamy and guilt of resigning succeeding generations to that wretchedness which inevitably awaits them if we basely entail hereditary bondage on them.”
