• Personal items (shampoo and conditioner, deodorant, body wash, toothbrush and toothpaste)

• Household items (manual can opener, laundry detergent, garbage bags, paper products)

KEEPING OUR WETLAND AREAS CLEAN

There are numerous wetland areas throughout our village. When these areas have debris and garbage thrown into them, it can lead to backups and flooding not only in our village, but into Grayslake as well. We have found trash, wood, fence posts and more thrown into our wetlands. We ask that our residents refrain from throwing anything into the water and if you see someone doing so, please contact the Grayslake/Hainesville Police Department.

Thank you for your cooperation.

SPRING REMINDERS

  • Do your best to keep your home’s exterior in good repair. Help keep Hainesville beautiful.
  • Please keep your lawns cut. The ordinance states that it cannot be taller than 8”.
  • If you are installing a pool (including a portable pool) that will use an electric pump, you will need to obtain a permit from the Village and abide by the guidelines.
  • If your pet makes a deposit somewhere other than your yard, please pick it up and dispose of it properly.
  • If you are adding or replacing a fence, a deck, the roof, the siding, hot water heater, the driveway or if you are renovating your home, you’ll need to obtain a permit from the Village and abide by the guidelines.
  • Boat trailers and campers can be parked in the driveway from April 1st until October 31st
  • Garbage and recycling bins may not be kept in front of your house/garage.
  • The discharge from your sump pump and gutters should be contained within your yard.
  • Vehicles, by state law, are not allowed to park across the sidewalk.
  • The International Fire Code adopted by the Village requires that residential properties have legible and visible address identification. The primary reasons for these requirements are to ensure easy identification of properties for emergency services, deliveries, and visitors. House numbers should be a minimum of 4 inches high, large enough to be easily seen from the street, and is recommended to be made of reflective material for nighttime visibility.
  • There is no parking on the street between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. unless you have an overnight parking pass from the Village or you have registered online with the Police Department via our website home page.
  • Be our eyes. We don’t have enough staff to spot all ordinance violations, so we need to count on you. If you see a possible violation, either call the Village Hall and leave a message or go to the website to submit a Request for Service. We will respond.

2026 FOOD TRUCKS

Food Truck Thursdays will be returning to the Village Hall this May! Additional details and schedule will be out soon. Please check our website for updates!

FIBER OPTIC SERVICES ARE COMING TO HAINESVILLE

Residents have received construction notices in the mail from MetroNet with T-Mobile Fiber. Additional communication will be sent out throughout the construction process.

For Questions about Construction please visit Metronet.com/TMoConstruction

or call (877) 386-3876

Important for you to know at this time

The fiber will be installed in road rights-of-way and in utility easements typically in backyards.  The construction will run the main fiber lines past every house in order for service lines to be installed at a later date if a resident wishes to purchase this service.  You will see a lot of Metronet trucks and workers in your neighborhood as construction begins.  Please be aware that workers will be in the utility easements. For Hainesville residents, these easements can be in your front yard or your backyard.

What is a utility easement?

A utility easement is a designated strip of private land that utility companies or municipalities have the legal right to access, use, and maintain for essential services like electricity, water, sewer, and cable. While the property owner retains ownership of the land, they are restricted from building permanent structures (like fences or sheds) that obstruct access.

Work will be conducted throughout the entire Village, in phases.  Metronet will be notifying you when they are coming to your neighborhood.  The Village will also update social media and the Village website with construction notices.

Is this a service I have to sign up for?

Metronet fiber will be another option for residents and businesses for their internet service provider.  Fiber is the latest and greatest technology for higher speeds and uninterrupted service.  Once the fiber network is under construction, Metronet will start advertising and selling their subscription packages.  The Village is not promoting, requiring or encouraging any resident or business to sign up for the service.  Rather, this is another provider available for your consideration and choice as to what best fits your needs and budget.
