From Your

Associational Mission Strategist

The greatest day we celebrate as Christians is Easter—Resurrection Sunday. It is a celebration of the living hope we have in Jesus Christ. Because He rose from the grave, we have the assurance of new life through our risen Savior. This is the message we have the privilege of sharing every day: Jesus is alive, and He alone is the true source of hope. Many people today are searching for hope, but they will not find it in the things of this world. My prayer is that we will be faithful to share with those we encounter that they can place their faith in a living God who offers real hope and the promise of eternal life.

This month provides several excellent opportunities for our churches to receive training. On April 23rd, we will host our Third Annual Equip Leadership Conference at Penia Baptist Church. The evening will begin with a light meal at 6:00 PM, followed by breakout sessions starting at 6:45 PM. We have added several new breakout options this year that will be especially helpful for our churches. This conference is open not only to church leaders but to anyone interested in growing and being equipped—so make plans to attend.

We are also excited to host another Public Affairs Training on April 30th at Northern Heights Baptist Church from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Mike Griffin, our Georgia Baptist representative at the State Capitol, will be leading this training. Participants will be encouraged to be salt and light in the public square and will receive guidance on addressing ethical issues in today’s culture. The training will also highlight the importance of a Gospel witness in local, state, and national government, as well as how churches can engage in the policy-making process. This event, including the meal, is free. You can register at https://gabaptist.org/training2026.

I encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities. Our goal is to continually provide training and resources to equip our churches to follow God’s leadership and faithfully carry out His mission.

Pressing On Toward the Goal!

In 2026, we will devote each month to praying for a selected group of churches. Please take note of which churches to lift up in prayer each month.

For April 2026, please pray for the following churches:

CHURCH / PASTOR

FBC - Cordele/ Von Paxton

FBC - Unadilla / Mark Grinsted

FBC - Vienna / Brian Leverett

Pray that God will work through these congregations to reach the lost and strengthen believers. Also remember their pastors, asking God to grant them wisdom and guidance as they lead.

Congratulations Pastor James Spires!

Rev. James Spires, pastor of Hatley Baptist Church, marked an incredible 50 years of faithful ministry on March 15, 2026. This milestone reflects decades of dedication, Godly guidance, and heartfelt service. Throughout the years, he has faithfully encouraged generations to be called and devoted to God and His word. May the Lord continue to richly bless Bro. Spires and his family as they carry on in their faithful service. Below are a few photos from this special day of celebration.

“Salt and Light: Your Role in the Public Square”

Stand Firm. Speak Boldly. Influence the Public Square for Christ.

Why This Matters Now More Than Ever

We live in a nation with a government of the people, by the people—which means Christians have a responsibility to help shape the future.

Since we are called to be salt and light in the world, that includes influencing laws and policies that shape our communities.

Every policy decision impacts your life, your family, and your church. If we stay silent, those who oppose God’s Kingdom values will often be the only voice at the table. And those decisions won’t just affect us—they’ll affect our neighbors.

So if we love our neighbor…

If we cherish our freedoms…

If we care about the gospel reaching the lost…

Then we must engage.

It’s time to step up, get equipped, and make an impact.
