Cruise Back to the ’60s with American Graffiti!

Ocean Shores Cinema

Friday, April 10, 2026

Doors open at 5:00 p.m. | Movie at 6:00 p.m.

We’re rolling back the clock for a special Classic Movie Night featuring the 1973 hit American Graffiti. Picture polished chrome, malt shops, early‑’60s style, and a little summer‑night romance — all right here in Ocean Shores. Attendees are encouraged to dress in ’60s-themed outfits to complete the retro fun.

Admission is free. If you’re able, the suggested donation of $15 for adults and $5 for guests under 18 will go directly toward restocking the shelves at the Ocean Shores Food Bank so we can continue living our motto: “So no one in our community goes hungry.”

Bring your friends, bring your family, and bring your love for those golden‑age nights. Let’s fill the theater, lift up our neighbors, and enjoy an evening that feels like cruising Main Street under glowing streetlights.

We’d love to see you there.

Rounding Up Kindness at Buck Electric Ace Hardware

Many thanks to Buck Electric Ace Hardware and to everyone who “rounded up” at the register last month. Your generosity goes straight to work keeping the shelves at the Ocean Shores Food Bank stocked and ready for our neighbors who need us.

Together, we’re making sure that "no one in our community goes hungry."

Shred Clutter, Share Kindness at Timberland Bank’s Community Event

Timberland Bank is hosting a free community shredding event on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at their Ocean Shores branch (361 Damon Rd).

Bring up to two bags of old tax documents, bills, and other papers you’d like securely shredded—at no cost.

In addition, Timberland Bank will be collecting food and monetary donations to support the Ocean Shores Food Bank, helping keep local shelves stocked for neighbors in need.

Safely clear out those old documents—and at the same time, help keep food on local tables by supporting the Ocean Shores Food Bank.

Representative Randall Visits the Ocean Shores Food Bank

During a recent visit to Ocean Shores, 6th Congressional District Representative Emily Randall made time to tour the Ocean Shores Food Bank and meet with members of our board of directors. Together, we discussed the steady rise in the number of local households seeking assistance and the need to build a more adequate facility to meet our community’s future needs. Her visit underscored both the challenges we face and the importance of strong partnerships as we work to ensure every neighbor has reliable access to nutritious food.

We are deeply grateful to Representative Randall—and to all of our legislative leaders—who recognize the hardships facing so many of their constituents and who continue to champion programs like ours. Their support strengthens our ability to serve our neighbors with dignity and helps ensure that families throughout our community have access to the resources they need.

A Community Feeds Each Other in More Ways Than Just Food

The Ocean Shores Food Bank waits,

like a lighthouse with its light glowing—

signaling safety, hope,

and a warm welcome.

Inside, community moves like a quiet tide--

the hands of volunteers passing bags,

their smiles welcoming,

their eyes offering compassion.

Canned goods stand in rows,

waiting to be chosen,

to be taken to a new home—

each label promising—hunger won’t win today.

Some, who feel like family,

enter with hope and thankfulness.

Others enter as strangers—

both nervous and hopeful.

They arrive with the weight

Of an empty vessel...

And they leave with a full bag—

The weight now feeling different.

Surrounded in dignity,

warmth, and the quiet heroism

of everyday people.

They come in from the cold outside

to the warmth inside.

They shed their fear

and are filled with relief.

They remove the feeling of isolation

and replace it with belonging.

Hope has been handed over

without a single question—

as if kindness

were the most ordinary thing in the world.

As Ocean Shores Blooms, Let Hope Bloom for All

Spring has finally settled over Ocean Shores, softening the winds and brightening our days with blooming rhododendrons, longer light, and that unmistakable feeling of renewal. After months of gray skies and heavy coats, the milder weather is a welcome change for all of us who call this coastal town home.

But even as we enjoy the season’s fresh start, many of our neighbors continue to face the daily worry of not having enough nutritious food on the family table. Rising costs and limited resources mean that some households cannot fully share in the comfort and hope that spring brings.

That is why your support matters so deeply.

Every donation—whether food, funds, or volunteer time—helps ensure that everyone in our community can experience the joy and dignity this season represents. With your help, families who are struggling can feel the same sense of renewal that the rest of us see in the blossoming flowers and brighter days.

Thank you for helping us make spring a season of possibility for all who live here in Ocean Shores.
