April 2026
Lower Providence Library News!
| | |
Hello Friends! Happy April!
Are you ready to celebrate National Library Week?
National Library Week is Sunday, April 19 - Saturday, April 25, 2026, and this year we have something very special planned. During National Library Week, local restaurants will participate in a Give Back Day, during which a percentage of their proceeds will go back to the Lower Providence Community Library. Over the next 2 weeks, we will be promoting participating restaurants and the days they will be participating during National Library Week.
This is a great opportunity to support a local restaurant and the library at the same time!
Our Spring Raffle, Ready Set Spring, is live! We have put together 5 beautiful spring-themed baskets for you to win. Tickets are available at the library and through our Rally Up page. We love creating these baskets for you all and hope that you love this round as much as we do!
After a spectacular February of books, March dipped for me again, and I read 3 books. Because of this, I am going to talk about a favorite author this month, S. A. Cosby. In March, I read my third S.A. Cosby book, Razorblade Tears, and it cemented him as one of my favorite authors. Cosby's novels are gritty, Southern Noir, character-driven novels focusing on grief, family, and often redemption. Usually, how quickly I read a book is directly related to how much I like it, but with Cosby, his books take me time to get through. Cosby holds no punches, making his novels challenging to binge, but ultimately worth the time commitment. The other novels I have read by him are All the Sinners Bleed and King of Ashes.
Thank you all for your continued support and patronage of the
Lower Providence Community Library!
Happy reading, and see you at the library!
Marija Skoog, Library Director
mlskoog@mclinc.org
See what I'm reading on Storygraph!
