April Arts and Entertainment Newsletter


April is a wonderful time to come out and visit the Arts and Entertainment District right here in downtown Crisfield! Whether it is the Corbin Studio, Gallery 413 or the West Main Street Gallery there is something for everyone. Please read about all the current and upcoming events in this newsletter.





APRIL FEATURED ARTIST!


Douglas E. Draper, Jr. is an award-winning artist skilled in illustration, murals, concept art, and comics. Mr. Draper's Forged By Water Series explores the of Chesapeake Bay Watermen, with works including a mural in Downtown Salisbury, MD. Mr. Draper has created art for clients like the Santa Fe Institute, Top Shelf and Upload, plus the film Red One. His art has been exhibited across the East Coast and features permanent murals at the Social Security Administration Building near Baltimore, MD., and the Wicomico Public Library. Mr. Draper holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute , College of Art, where he received the Presidential Scholarship.


Mr. Draper's work will be on display at the Corbin Studio & Gallery (4 E. Main St., Crisfield, MD.) starting April 1st - April 25th.

Hosted by Friends of Crisfield is the largest egg hunt on the shore. There are 4 age groups and a sensory area. Free admission! Bring your basket!

 

A GCAC GALA AT KINGSBAY MANSION

Join the Greater Crisfield Action Coalition (GCAC) annual fundraising event on April 10, 2026, for A Gala at Kingsbay Mansion. Experience the music of Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross, and Carole King in a beautiful setting, with cocktails, elegant hors d’oeuvres, and live performance by Vaneisa & Jazz Etcetera.

SMITH ISLAND AND TANGIER ISLAND BIRDING CRUISE

April 11, 2026, 8AM – 4:30PM

Somers Cove Marina


Registration is open for our April 11 cruise aboard the Elizabeth Joy II to both Smith Island, MD and Tangier Island, VA. We’ll depart from Somers Cove Marina in Crisfield, MD at 8:00 am. We’ll explore Smith Island in the morning and enjoy lunch at the Drum Point Market & Eatery. After lunch, we’ll cruise to Tangier Island for some afternoon birding. We’ll return to Crisfield at 4:30 pm.
