April 2026

Hey April! It's Good To See Ya!

Sponsor Troopers & Tails. Adoptions. How to help.

As April brings warmer weather, we relish spending more time outside with our senior dogs. Before we know it, spring will work its magic, blooming flowers and trees while erasing the bleakness of winter. More things for the dogs to sniff along our trail walks!

The year is moving fast, and we'll be golfing at the 14th Annual Troopers & Tails event in September. Enter to play a day of golf with your friends and family, all while supporting the sanctuary. We need sponsors to make this event a success, so please visit our Sponsor Website to learn how you can help.

Several of our pups have been adopted, and we are bursting with excitement! Check out the happy families!

Please continue to check out the adoptable dogs at our sanctuary and give them a second chance at a home! Find out more on our website, and be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram!

Did you know you can help us by sending donations through our Amazon Wishlist? We keep it up to date with our most needed items. Plus, when you order through Amazon, it gets delivered right to our doorstep! Thank you for helping our senior dogs!

Mark your calendars for the SDS events coming your way! Every event is a way for us to promote our mission to save senior dogs. We usually bring an adoptable dog with us to showcase, too. Please spread the word and join us if you can. More details can be found on our website.

Egg-Loving Zeek

Hi, my name is Zeek, and I've been at the sanctuary since my owner's health took a turn for the worse over a year ago. I miss my family tremendously, but I know there is someone out there who would be willing to open their home to all the love I have to give.

I'm currently back at the sanctuary after being fostered by some incredible families. I'm only 7 years old, and I have a lot of energy, which is why I thrive in a home environment. A game of fetch, chasing my big, yellow plastic egg, daily walks, and endless cuddles are a few of the things I love most. While I get along with other dogs when properly introduced, I would do best as your only pup, and I am better with older children.

My breed is Labrador Retriever (hence my love of fetching), and I'm as healthy as can be with all my vaccines up to date. I love my crate, but also do well when left out. Not to brag, but I'm kind of a gem!

Please consider fostering or adopting me. I get overstimulated at the sanctuary by all the other dogs. I truly thrive in a home environment and have done so well there. I want another family so badly. It would be a dream come true to find my people!

Thanks for considering me!
