Investing in Youth: Tahoe Youth and Family Services Completes State Grant

Through this grant, Tahoe Youth and Family Services strengthened its capacity to measure outcomes, refine programming, and expand critical supports such as drop-in services and transitional housing. The organization also fostered a culture where data informs strategic decisions, youth perspectives shape program development, and equity remains central to continuous improvement and community impact. As the grant period concludes, we celebrate the meaningful progress made through this investment and remain deeply grateful for the support that helped advance our mission. The tools, knowledge, and partnerships developed during this time will continue to guide our work and strengthen our ability to serve youth and families in the years ahead.

$80 Million For Youth: A Future Worth Fighting For

Tahoe Youth and Family Services is part of a statewide coalition of the 50 undersigned organizations, public agencies, and individuals led by John Burton Advocates for Youth (JBAY). We are calling for a dedicated $80 million youth funding guarantee within California's Homeless Housing, Assistance and Prevention (HHAP) program. This investment would help ensure the stability and continuity of critical services that support young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, strengthening the statewide system of care that helps youth find safety, stability, and a path forward.

Take Action: Add Your Voice Today

SB 1240 proposes the creation of California's first Office of Nonprofit Empowerment, a dedicated state office designed to strengthen partnerships between government and the nonprofits delivering essential services on the ground. For communities like South Lake Tahoe, organizations such as Tahoe Youth and Family Services are creating stronger state collaboration, which means more effective funding. By signing the statewide letter of support for SB 1240, organizations and community members can help ensure nonprofits have a stronger voice in Sacramento and the tools needed to better serve our community.
