Religious Education Newsletter

April 2026

The joy of  the Risen Christ be with you!   It is hard to believe it is already April and the end of the RE school year, and what a blessed year it has been.  I am excited to share the April Newsletter with you as we celebrate all God has done for us. Below is a brief summary of the articles in the April RE Newsletter.  Happy Reading!

  • Note from the Director:  I share three examples of how the Holy Spirit has been active in youth faith formation in the past year.

  • Family Outreach: Kathy Baehman gives some ideas for how to stay connected with our faith during the summer months.

  • Sunday School: Gwendolyn Noto recaps how the littlest disciples have grown in faith this year.
  • Elementary: Lisa Lynch shared ideas for how children and youth can continue to grow in theri faith during the summer and beyond as members of the St. Raphael Parish family.

  • InFormed Highlights: Video clips geared toward parents, youth, and children that focus on living the Catholic faith!

As noted above, the newsletter is filled with ideas for how families, children, and youth can stay connected with their faith during the summer months.  I would like to champion one more which has been very life-giving for our family: Camp Tekakwitha, which the outdoor ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay, established to invite and guide young people into a deeper encounter with Jesus Christ amidst the beauty of God's natural creation. Camp “Tek” is located in Shawano, Wisconsin and they offer a variety of Camps during the summer including both 2 night AND full week camps for youth ages 6-14, leadership camps for high school students and family camps for families of all ages.

Camp Tek also offers Day Camps, which are hosted at different locations in the Diocese but staffed by Camp Tek.   We are  blessed to host one of the remote Camp Tek day camps for youth ages 5-10 at St. Raphael. Day Camps run from 8am-4pm, Monday through Thursday. The St. Raphael Day Camp is July 13th-16th and there are still spots available. Andrew has participated in the day camp for the past 3 years and loves it!   Click here to learn more or to register for the St. Raphael Day Camp or any of the camps offered by Camp Tekakwitha.

On behalf of the entire RE team, I wish you a very blessed rest of your spring and joyful start to your summer months.   We are so grateful for being able to journey with you in faith this year and can’t wait to continue to grow as disciples on the way with you in the 2026/2027 school year.  Online registration opens in May, so be on the lookout for an email from me with details.   St. Raphael the Archangel, pray for us!
