Fats, Oils and Grease are Garbage

How do I get rid of fat, oils, and grease after cooking?

To avoid costly clogs and keep your home or business wastewater pipes and our wastewater treatment facility running smoothly, fats, oils, and grease (FOG) should be put in the trash can, not down the drain.

Collect FOG in an aluminum can or other container that you can toss later, and wipe cooking pans and utensils with a paper towel before washing.

Need a way to collect FOG? The MWMC will send you a FREE FOG kit in the mail –simply fill out a request form on our website! FOG kits include a scraper tool and a plastic lid that will fit over any regular aluminum can.
