Volunteer and Make a Difference
This week is National Volunteer Week and HSC wants to thank all of those who have made a difference by volunteering in our post office, at events on the Campus lawn and in the Lodestar Day Resource Center, and in the Donations Center. A special thanks to everyone who has participated in large campus-wide projects such as painting, landscaping and parking lot maintenance.

If you have been thinking about ways to utilize your time, talent and treasure, HSC invites you to get involved and volunteer at the Campus! HSC and our partners have a variety of volunteer opportunities available for individuals as well as groups of all sizes.

You can volunteer to do a deep cleaning in the CASS shelter; gardening in St Vincent de Paul's Urban Farm and/or serving meals in the Dining Room; helping clients to write resumes at St. Joseph the Worker; and so much more! And stay tuned for next week's newsletter to learn about opportunities at the next Project Connect event on May 20th in Phoenix.

It’s easy to make a difference in the lives of our clients seeking to end their homelessness. Please email us at [email protected] to learn more.
ThirstAid Heat Relief Campaign Starts May 7th
With summer heat approaching, we need at least 60,000 bottles of water per month to help our clients stay hydrated and healthy. The first bottled water donation drop-off of the summer, located at 15th Avenue & Harrison St., is Saturday, May 7th from 9am to noon, and it couldn’t be easier. You pull up and our staff will remove the donations from your vehicle. We also welcome travel-sized toiletries, summer clothing, shoes, new men's/women's underwear, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen and lip balm. For more information or to schedule a drop-off on a different day, please email [email protected] or call us at 602-282-0849.

And a big thank you to our partner St. Joseph the Worker, the originator of the ThirstAid initiative, for promoting collaboration among Campus partners to ensure our collective clients have water to drink as they work on ending their homelessness.
