St. Rita School inspires students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade eight to achieve academic excellence in a safe, nurturing and faith-filled Catholic environment.
We prepare students to be morally responsible, innovative thinkers who, in today’s technology-guided global community, live and share the Love of Christ.
From the Desk of Mrs. Tiezzi

Dear St. Rita School Parents,

Happy Easter! I hope you and your family had a relaxing and fun-filled stay-cation last week. It was a much needed rest for everyone and I’m sure we will eventually look back at this time, quarantined at home, with many fond memories and some new family traditions.

As everyone is aware we have extended the times of our remote learning for students at all grade levels. We are taking our direction from our central office regarding time allotments and will continue to make adjustments if the need arises. Over the past few weeks I have had emails from parents asking for additional time and also emails from parents requesting less time on-line. Please understand we are working hard to find the right balance for all our students ages 3-14. Our teachers understand the challenges parents are facing working from home and trying to balance on-line learning for their children. Thank you to all of you for your support and patience during this time. Please trust that at the end of this quarantining our teachers will be sure your child has the necessary skills to move on to the next level of learning.

Starting this week, Sr. Anne, Mrs. Barnett and I, will be calling our school families just to check in to see how you are doing. As we have over 250 families to communicate with it may take us a few weeks to connect. We look forward to talking with all our St. Rita School families and hearing about your quarantine adventures.

Re-enrollment paperwork can be mailed to the school office for processing. If you are having trouble getting your paperwork signed by your Pastor, request that he send Msgr. Joe or Mrs. Nugent an email verifying your parishioner status. The Smart Financial Aid portal will open on May 1. In order to apply for financial aid your Smart tuition account must be current and you must have already submitted your re-enrollment paperwork and fee. Financial aid will be distributed on a first come, first served basis until the money is depleted. If you have not yet re-enrolled for next year, please do so in April so you don’t miss out on the opportunity to apply for financial assistance. If you are having financial difficulty due to current circumstances please contact our school business manager, Paula Nugent at paulanugent@att.net as soon as possible for guidance.

We continue to follow the direction of state and local leaders as to when school may re-open. At this time we will remain closed until at least May 20. The 8 th grade teachers and my administrative team met yesterday to talk about different scenarios for graduation. A decision cannot be made until we have a better understanding regarding the re-opening of schools and churches.

Friday we will be celebrating Comfy Cozy Day so please have your child dress appropriately. A reminder to all parents of students in grades 4-8: Thursday, April 30, marks the mid-term of the final trimester. Your child’s grades are available for you to review on the EduConnect grade portal. Students should be turning in their assignments via Google Classroom or Seesaw.

Thank you for entrusting your child/ren to our care. May God continue to watch over your family and keep you all in his warm embrace.

God Bless ,
Mrs. Tiezzi

Does Your Company Offer Volunteer Grants?
Volunteer grant programs, also known as “Dollars for Doers” programs, are corporate giving programs created to encourage volunteerism in communities where employees live and work.
Through these programs, companies provide monetary grants to organizations where employees volunteer regularly.

Please take a moment and ask if your employer participates in a Volunteer Grants Program. Your time and talent at St. Rita School could turn into dollars for our school! Questions? Feel free to contact Joanne Bruno at  jbruno.stritaschool@gmail.com .
