The Army Women’s Foundation and Trident University recognize the importance of education and the role it plays in personal, professional and economic fulfillment. As part of the Army Women’s Foundation Scholarship Program, the Tr ident University Scholarship Program provides full-ride scholarships to Women Soldiers, past and present, and their lineal descendants to help them attain their educational goals. The Trident University Scholarship Program annually provides full ride scholarships for one (1) student pursuing a bachelor’s degree and one (1) student pursuing a graduate degree. Scholarships are awarded only for coursework from Trident University.

U.S. Army 1st Lt. Jennifer Niemann and Private First Class Ashley Ensminger, both assigned to the East Africa Response Force (EARF) for Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa, talk about their deployment to Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti and their experience as the first females in Easy Company, 2-506 Infantry Battalion, 101st Infantry Division (Airborne), out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky. 
When Del Gaudio transitioned back to civilian life, she was unprepared. She didn’t know how to budget, a common challenge for veterans who are used to having housing, meals, and clothes provided for them. She also had a hard time finding housing, moving back in with her family.
The Impact of COVID-19
The reality that corona virus has changed all of our lives is no surprise to any of you.  The board of directors at the Army Women’s Foundation share your concern and in an effort to reassure everyone that we are and always will be Army strong, we are sharing some of our experiences during this crisis. 
I received a call on 23 March, from one of my fellow choir members and friend. 

After exchanging pleasantries, I asked if there was a specific reason she was calling. 

Much to my surprise she explained that as a member of the board at my synagogue, she and other board members are  calling all the seniors in the congregation to make sure they were OK and inquire if they need any help. 

That’s when I started laughing because I never think of myself as a senior, even though technically I am.

That is my coronavirus epiphany for this edition of our newsletter. Hopefully I made you laugh, because even in the worst of times, humor and the ability to laugh, is a healing activity.
