Circle the City (CTC) and Maricopa County Department of Health Services teamed up to provide over 200 vaccinations against COVID-19 for clients at the Human Services Campus last week. While this has been an ongoing effort by CTC since January, this was the first week-long event to vaccinate our collective clients.
Medical care doesn't always come easy to individuals experiencing homelessness, and clients were very grateful for access to the vaccines. This population is particularly vulnerable to COVID-19 as many people on the streets have underlying health issues that put them at greater risk. CTC's Marty Hames said "It has been an immensely successful week. I am exhausted, but I go to bed every night knowing we have made the vaccine available to people who otherwise would have little chance of getting it."
