  • As we prepared this daily update, the House had not yet voted on the new $484 billion package to help small business. We're still hopeful that the deal will be reached and President Trump will sign the bill today, but it's another opportunity to tell you to contact your bank now - if you haven't already done so - to start the process so when the sign-up opens again, you'll be the best possible position to access funds to help your business.
  • Starting on Friday, April 24, Ohioans who are unemployed as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic but who don’t qualify for regular unemployment benefits can begin pre-registering for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA), a new federal program that covers many more categories of workers, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) announced today.

Some ways to cope from our members
NAMI Southern Ohio is offering free mental health support services now via Zoom meetings. The organization is offering a Family Support Group every Thursday from 3-5 p.m. and a Connection Support Group every Friday from 3-5 p.m.

  • Family Support Group is designed as a group support and education forum for those who have a loved one or close friend who lives with a mental illness.
  • Connection is an education and support group for those who have personal lived experience with mental illness.

Each group is free and is hosted by a trained NAMI facilitator who has personal lived experience with mental illness.

The groups are open to all residents of Ross County, as well as Highland, Fayette, Pickaway and Pike Counties and are free of charge. Those interested should email NAMI Southern Ohio at info@namisouthernohio.org and we will send them instructions on how to access the groups.

Also, Geode Yoga is also offering some relief to those who are still working, or just need some stress relief during these challenging, and for many, difficult times. In honor of Earth Day we are extending to our community some anxiety and stress relief opportunities, as a huge thank you from our Geode Gem team to yours.
