To help recognize Earth Day, members of Gloucester County Virginia Government's Community Engagement and Public Information Team volunteered to make pine cone bird feeders to hang around Riverside Sanders Retirement Community for residents to enjoy.
Recognizing Our Volunteers
Volunteers are important members of our educational teams with the wealth of lived experiences they share with our school families. People who spend time with students – whether they are tutoring a child or chaperoning a study trip – bring their unique experiences and backgrounds that ultimately expand a child’s point of view.

This week we recognize you....each day we thank you....

Drug Take Back Scheduled for Saturday

The Gloucester Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will be at the Gloucester Walmart on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. to receive over the counter and/or prescription drugs (expired / unwanted) from the community.

A deputy will collect the medicine from the public and stow it in provided containers, which will later be turned over to the area DEA Office for destruction. This is an annual event wherein GCSO partners with the DEA’s “Drug Take Back Initiative” to help prevent improper disposal of medications at home. We encourage you to bring your expired or unwanted medications to this event so that we may dispose of it appropriately.
