FROM PASTOR SARAH
Beloved of God,

Have you ever taken the time to really think about and write what faith means to you? Last week the 9th grade Confirmation students turned in their Faith Statement papers to me. I have so enjoyed reading them! They wrote about important people in their faith lives, how they understand baptism and communion and what being confirmed means to them, and what their relationship with God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit is. They also chose verses of scripture that they find meaningful and experiences they've had that have helped to shape their faith.

You should know that we have some very faith-filled young people who will be confirmed in our church (hopefully) on May 31st. I look forward to celebrating with them and you.

I've been inspired by their writing to invite you to take a little time to think about your faith as well. While you are home, if you are home, maybe take a little time to think about and write about your faith. What has shaped you? Who has been important and why? What scripture do you turn to regularly? What do baptism and communion mean to you?

This isn't an assignment, obviously. But I think you'll find it a good experience if you choose to participate. And, if you'd like to share, I'd love to read your faith statement when you're done.

Praying much peace and many blessings to you, that you are safe, and that you are experiencing God's presence in your life.

NURSE'S CORNER

We are blessed to have knowledgeable and caring nurses in our congregation! They have some words of advice for us:

If you are suffering from a health emergency or have a medical problem that you would normally see a provider for, please continue to seek health care for your concerns. Do not let your fear of contracting Covid-19 prevent you from seeking necessary care. The hospitals, urgent cares, and clinics are going above and beyond to keep everyone safe. When in doubt, contact your clinic or nurse line and they can help you navigate the best course of action.                            ~ Joanna, Jan, and Jaime

Remember to pray for these nurses and all those on the front lines fighting the corona virus.
SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
Spring Cleanup
Dates: April 28 and 29. May 5, 6, 12 and 13.
6:00-8:00 pm

Due to COVID-19, we need to continue with social distancing. This will extend into ways we do activities at our church. The first activity change you will notice is our Spring Clean-up. This year we will have multiple evenings of Spring Clean-up

Each evening we are inviting only two families to participate. Please sign-up for a date so we do not have too many families in an evening. There will be a member of the Building and Grounds committee there to guide you in what needs to be done.

Plan on bringing work gloves. If other items are needed (rakes, shovels, wheelbarrow, etc.) you will receive an email before your date letting you know what is needed.

If you are interested in volunteering for this project, please sign up here.  If you have any questions, please email Melissa (office administrator) at [email protected].
Highway Cleanup!
Saturday, May 1st, 9:00 am - Noon

We are looking for volunteers for our Spring Highway Cleanup event. We will meet at the church (please stay in vehicles) to get the supplies, then head to the site.  We will be following social distancing guideline, and you will be wearing a safety vest.

Please email Melissa (office administrator) at [email protected], if you are able to attend!
Additional Church Service Opportunities will resume when we resume church services.
