New Music at the Plaza Series Brings Free Live Music to Danville

Free concert series debuts at new Prospect Park Plaza to kick off

Small Business Week

The Town of Danville will debut a new outdoor performance space and kick off National Small Business Week with live music in the heart of Downtown. Music at the Plaza begins Saturday, May 3, with a dynamic lineup of local performers taking the stage at the new Prospect Park Plaza. The event will also officially wrap up the Town’s more than $4 million investment in revitalizing the historic Downtown area.

Before the inaugural concert, the community is invited to a celebration at 3:30 p.m. marking the conclusion of the Downtown Master Plan Catalyst Project, which brought safety-related features and beautification elements as well as gathering spaces to the area around Hartz Avenue. Primary construction concluded in winter, and final paving, striping, and work on the two plazas will be complete this month. Theatre Plaza, adjacent to the Village Theatre & Art Gallery, will be available as an extension of the theatre for community events.

From family-owned boutiques to longtime restaurateurs, Danville’s small businesses bring charm, personality, and a sense of connection to the Town. While enjoying live music at the Plaza, visitors are encouraged to explore nearby shops, dine at local eateries, and celebrate the people behind the businesses that help make Danville such a vibrant place to live, work, and visit.

Passover has Come to a Close - but our Work Continues

As we emerge from the powerful traditions of Passover - of retelling the Exodus, of remembering our ancestors’ journey from fear to freedom - we carry forward its deepest message: We are responsible for one another.

Here in the East Bay, that responsibility is urgent.

Every year we support Jewish community members in crisis with one-time financial support for:

  • Medical emergencies
  • Housing instability
  • Home caregiving crises
  • Unexpected financial burdens

Some are Holocaust survivors. Others are long-time Jewish community members navigating the growing challenges of aging alone. All deserve support. All deserve dignity.

$3,012 raised so far of our $36,000 goal

Thanks to a generous matching gift, your donation will be doubled. We’ve raised $3,012 so far - but with your help, we can reach our goal and provide emergency assistance to 40 more Jewish community members by June.

That’s why JFCS East Bay created the Jewish Community Safety Net - a lifeline of direct financial support and compassionate care coordination. Whether it’s helping someone afford rent during a health crisis or easing the burden on a family caregiver, your gift makes a real difference.
