What's New: President Sara's Message, SUDS, GOTR 5K, Dress-A-Girl Photos

What's Happening this week: Committee Meetings, Reading Club Night with Lois Buchter, SUDS at New Clairvaux Vineyard
Message from President Sara Beacham
Greetings!

What do you get when you reach the end of April? You get six more all club meetings, three more business meetings, and two more board meetings. (And a partridge in a pear tree. I couldn’t resist.) We are nearing the end of year. There are a few committees meeting this week to wrap up the year-end to do list, including the admin committee. Admin is meeting this week to discuss dues for the coming year. Expect to see this coming to a business meeting agenda soon, followed shortly thereafter with the preliminary budget for next year, too.

Here are some things to keep in mind as we wind down our year. Look for the dues motion coming soon, as I mentioned, and then look for the dues invoices to come to your email box. Watch out for committee assignment requests coming from President-Elect Kathy soon, too. We will get a Dream It, Be It recap on May 11. Then, on May 18 we hear from Chico Community Acupuncture.

I hope you have the date saved for board installation. It is June 1st at 6:00 pm at Canyon Oaks Country Club. We are very excited to install Kathy and her board. I am sure there are a few spots left. June 1st is also the first business meeting of June. The other business meeting is on June 15th to wrap up any last minute business we need to take care of before breaking for July and August. June 8th is reserved for the President’s Farewell message. I have a lot to be thankful for this year, both as President and as a club. We have done outstanding things this year. I am looking forward to a celebration, and a dance party.

See you next week or in committees.

April Fur Baby and Member of the Month - Ollie & Janet Earl

I got my Ollie the day before Christmas. Wags n’ Whiskers was having an adoption fair in the parking lot by their store. Ollie was the only one not barking, had Corgi ears and Dachshund body and looked at me with sweet eyes. He was rescued in Stanislaus County. Wasn’t intending to get a dog (famous last words). He has been my walking partner in Bidwell Park - every day! He is 16 years old and in great shape.

I have been a member of SI Chico for 18 years; La Donna Joyner was my sponsor. I love the mission of Soroptimist and have enjoyed being with strong women who are full of positive energy. I have met lifelong friends. I’m truly blessed to be a Soroptimist.
