Hello Soroptimist,

How are you all doing? I am starting to get a little housebound and would love to have some girl time. I hope we get to do this in person soon! This has really been a crazy month. The SNR election results are in and a big Congratulations goes to Lisa Fitzgerald, she was elected to the position of Governor-elect for our region. Sheron Box also from Bidwell Rancho, was elected to SNR Treasurer. Hooray for our sister club stepping up to leadership.

Get ready SI Chico! Next Wednesday (May 6), we will be having our business meeting using Zoom! There will be instructions sent out along with a video on how to use Zoom. If you haven’t already tried it, consider doing a practice run with your family or other Soroptimists prior to our meeting.  We will start our meeting at 12:00pm, as if we were at the Elks Lodge. Once again, something new to learn, and we can do this, “that’s what they are telling me anyway.” With all of you amazing women, we can conquer anything! Thanks for always being so supportive and easy going.

Please watch for the eblast this week and next because it’s going to be packed full of useful information about our live Zoom meeting and also voting on for our pending motions. Also look for the announcement about our SUDS coming up this week on Thursday. It’s another great opportunity to practice on Zoom.

I hope to see all of you really soon, in person but if that can’t happen hopefully, we can see each other at SUDS or at our Business Meeting on May 6 th.

SUDS! This Thursday, April 30 on Zoom!!   Get ready SI Chico! We are having virtual happy hour this Thursday at 5:00 on Zoom . If you don't have Zoom loaded on one of your devices, get it before Thursday and watch the tutorial above and practice so you're ready and confident! Pour yourself a glass of wine or mix up your best beverage and settle in for an hour of Soropti-fun! These are the  Election Results  for the 2020-2022 SNR Board of Directors. The polls closed on April 20, 2020 and the election was verified by another individual. A summary sheet is available upon request. 

It should be noted that Tracey Edwards had to withdraw her name from the race for Governor-Elect due to a change in her family situation.

46th Biennial Convention
Update from SIA President, Tina Wei-Kang Pan :

It is with a heavy heart that I report your SIA Board of Directors has discussed and decided for reasons outside of our control to cancel our 46th Biennial Convention in Bellevue, Washington, USA, July 22-25, 2020. We will be terminating our contract for cause with the Hyatt Bellevue because of the global public health pandemic.

It's hard to believe with this Pandemic that we have only 2 more months left of this club year. It definitely will be a year to remember. Seems like we've had more than our share of years to remember.

With that being said, have you been uploading your committee agenda's, minutes, photos, and other documents into our SI Chico Dropbox? It doesn't need to be a Co-chair, it could be a committee member that you delegate for this project.

As you may have suspected, The 2020 Home and Garden Show will not be taking place this month as originally planned. Instead, it has been rescheduled to the new dates of July 25 and July 26 . Our obligation and schedule will remain the same, however we will start over with a new sign-up genius. We realize it's difficult to know what our plans will be in July, but please go ahead and sign up and each of us can easily change our chosen shift if needed at a later date.
